Title: hip fat development
Post by: Madison (kiara jamie) on January 04, 2014, 10:19:13 PM
so i have been wondering about hip fat development, i have a noticeable amount of fat developing on the side of my legs but it seems in the hollow part of my hip were the hip joint is located, i have a sparse amount of fat there, just wondering if everyone else has dealt with this and if i just need to wait, also how many years into hrt have some of you girls noticed the most noticeable amount of hip area fullness developing, im only 8 months in to hrt so i am debating getting lipofilling in my hips or my breasts

You look like a slender person in your avatar.  It may take a little while for the deposition of fat in the female patterns to become apparent.  In a natal female during puberty it takes years.

Girls start puberty at around age 11-12-13... most don't fully develop until they're 17-18-19. Certainly they don't have much breast or hip development after eight months. I know it might seem like an interminable wait but maybe give it another year or longer to see how things are developing first.

In my case, my hips only really started developing in my second year of hrt. During my first year I had minimal hip development, but lots of breast development.. year 2.. my breast slowed down and my hips shaped nicely.

This all depends on genetics.. So look at the women in your family for clues.. My family we have wider hips and bigger breasts. HRT gave me similar figure and breasts to them

I have quite slow breast development (still filling in A cup in almost 8 months), but I had a bit wider hips to start with, so I cant really complain about lower development within the same period of time. One thing which does suck is that I have almost flat belly now, but still some fat remaining in those handles - which is the only thing which prevents me from having hour-glass. That and having only small perky boobs upstairs :P - but I guess I should not be complaining :D

It's certainly good to know that body changes continue for a good while.

HRT, the gift that keeps giving :)

Now if it only altered bone structure and voice, lol. *sigh* ;)
How I wish I had gone through the right puberty the first time!

I did not start developing noticeable hips until a little after the year mark. Now at a little over 18 months, I have pretty good sized hips. I'm thin (size 4-6), so I don't expect too much.

I do however have a friend who has never developed hips. She has been ft for about 10 years, and post op about 7 years. It all depends on your genetic makeup.

I've always had hips, so it's hard for me to measure whether there is a difference or not.  There might be when I take a look at it, but again, I've always sort of had hips.  I've heard it's a good idea to eat more carbs than usual when you are on hrt becuse it helps with the fat redistribution.  Whether that's true or not, I'm uncertain.  What I will say is I tend to eat a lot more carbs with my vegetarian diet, and I've definitely noticed changes in my overall body (chest to be specific) since starting hrt.

I sure have! but im only at 22 months on hrt and have gone from a 34" to a 40" in that time. It's definitely my genetics at play though since I come from a spanish ancestry plus my mom has pretty wide hips as well.
