Title: How to ask a girl out?
Post by: Joe. on January 05, 2014, 03:30:02 PM
I've developed a huge crush on this girl I know. I really really like her, she's perfect. We've gotten close lately and text very often. We get on like a house on fire. She knows I'm fond of her, and I sense she feels the same. I want to ask her out on a date, but I'm not sure how to ask. I'm also afraid of rejection. I don't know if she knows I am trans. I haven't told her but I'm pre T so she might have guessed. She's all I can think about.

Just say "hey XXX, I get off of work at 3:00, want to go over to (insert location: coffeehouse, pizza place, whatever) and get a bite?" Be confident.

There, it shows an interest, it can be considered a date or just friends, so take that one time out and see how the chemistry is. Since you say she seems to like you, she'll probably be happy. Go from there.

I agree coffee, lunch, pizza, etc. is considered "not too serious", so she won't worry that you are being inappropriately forward or something. There's actually a US dating group called "It's Just Lunch" promoting a casual dating situation which doesn't imply too much.

I agree just ask her out to coffee or something nothing to serious at least you would go from point A. to point B.

Thanks everyone. We finish work at different times so it's a bit awkward. She's said I can go round her house one weekend and she'll let me know when she's free. I really like her but don't wanna scare her off but I don't want to regret not making an effort.

You said you text all the time, well you could put that in a text. Trial balloon it as they say, "What would you think about going for coffee Saturday (or whenever)?" If she's interested she'll respond to that.

Ya if you're already close with the girl and text often, you're pretty much in when it comes down to going out for lunch or something. Start small and simple and if it works out and the chemistry is good, try going further with an actual date

What's the worst she could say, "No"? The world will not end and you will have started learning how to ask people out which builds confidence. The only regret you will have is if she gives up waiting and goes elsewhere. Seize the day baby! That you will not regret.  :) Think of it this way, you only ask people out a small percentage of your life. You drive through intersections every day where a truck could run the light and hit you. Morale? Worry more about the things that can kill you. Puts things in perspective, doesn't it?  ;)

Dating is like a job interview. You are both trying to learn enough about each other to decide if this is the person you want to spend your life with. You will get many turn downs, but it is worth it when you find the ones that say yes.

Can I say no pick up lines.

The best way I've been asked out I was out one night, lining up for a drink, this guy, not that hot, but funny & sort of cute started talking to me he somehow found our the drink I was planing to order, thou not that hard to know. Anyway I went to order and he pushed in. I thought you rude prick. He got his drinks, gave me a drink, said here's my number, you know owe me a date.

So smooth!
