Title: Jewelry Obsession
Post by: SciNerdGirl on January 06, 2014, 11:10:55 PM
Do any of the other ladies out there have a jewelry obsession like I do?

Look at my X-mass present I bought for myself:

I love butterflies and I thought this ring was so pretty I had to have it.

I definitely like some jewelry. It's not unusual for me to have one four pieces when out for lunch. (earings, a ring or two, necklace, tennis bracelet, and possibly a watch)

Now if I can just get the one that counts...a wedding ring.

Yes, that's nice! :)

I wish I could find a ring that fit my fat fingers :D

I do like earrings and long necklaces though.

My butterfly ring (seen above) is available up to size 12.  (the one I'm wearing is size 10).  I'm pretty lucky that I have small hands.  My ring fingers are a comfortable size 9 (the largest standard size for women), so I can find most rings in a size I can wear.  I do need to search for larger size rings for my index fingers (sz 10) and my thumb (sz 11).

I buy most of my jewelry on-line, and I have found that there are a lot of sites that have very pretty larger size rings (sz 10,11 and 12) [not sure what the rules are on commercial links, so PM me if you want some site suggestions].  Of course, most fine jewelry (Gold, platinum, etc) can be re-sized.

Thank you so much.  I put a fair amount of effort into making my hands pretty, since they are about the only part of me that is :D  Play to your strengths right.

I totally love bracelets too.

I wish I could wear more necklaces, but I have a crazy thick neck (18 inches) that is the result of High-school wrestling and years in the gym.

Funky, neck shrinkage is the most quantifiable changes I had from HT. I shrunk from a 17.5" to a 14.25" neck. It does have a major effect on wearing typical necklaces.

Hi ,

The ring is very nice and also your hands :)
I just love any kind of Jewelry and I have many , not really expensive but really cute .
Shopping for them Is another fun too , even that I can't take many at home , I enjoy a lot seeing and trying them :)
My hands are quite big and if you look at my finger ratio they might appear quite masculine , but when I wear my loved pieces I feel so pretty .
Now I really can't wait to go in my city and pierce my ears too , I didn't have them pierce and it is frustrating as I love many earrings .

I recently finished piercing my ears (did the right one, since I've had the left pierced for like 20 yrs).  I cannot believe how feminine it makes me feel to wear earrings.  Even when I am in guy mode I wear studs in both ears and I love how it makes me feel, and when I'm in girl mode it is unbelievable how much earrings feminize your face.

It is true . For me , I love the big circle ones and I just can't wait to pierce my ears soon . I heard some girls did it at home but I am too scared :)
Then I plan to get this in the belly button ;))

Strangely, I am not obsessed with jewelry or earrings, but I like bangles in summer.

I just got some large hoop earrings.  Not super big (about 2 inches diameter and wire thin), but a really nice size for my face and they make me feel so girly.   I pierced my right ear myself, but I already had three holes in my left so I was pretty confident doing it, since I knew what to expect with regards to cleanliness, healing, pain level etc.

If you've never pierced anything I definitely recommend having a pro do it.  Besides if they do your ears with a gun, you'll barely feel it, and if you are too worried, you can always get two people to do both ears at the same time (then you cannot chicken out after the first one is done).

I'd love to have my belly button done, but I wouldn't dream of it until I loose a lot of weight, because my midsection is definitely not something I'd be proud to show off, much less decorate.
