She told me that it's because of how my body is built, And that girls can only get 4 packs, Is this true because I'm really rying to work for one, That's one of my goals, But sh says I can't
It depends on how the muscles sit in your abdomen. Some men can only get 4 packs, some can get 6 packs, some even get 8 packs. I actually know two guys with 5 packs because of a rare disorder which meant they had to have an ab removed. It's harder for people with estrogen in their body's to get a six pack due to lower testosterone levels to make the muscle with, and where fat is naturally stored on the body, as well as it being potentially dangerous to get to a body fat percentage low enough to actually see any abs. Underfat for a man would be <8%, whereas for a woman it's <21%.

The musculature in the male and female bodies are essentially the same. It all comes down to how you develop and "showcase" them.
Your sister is wrong. Just google "female muscular abs" or something similar and you'll see.
Just a thought that popped into my head that a six pack might look like a four pack because the upper-most pair of muscles isn't always that defined compared to the lower ones so there appears to be sort of like "nothing" between pecs and abs. If you can make anything out of that sentence, that is.
But I agree, it's possible for a female to have a six pack. There's no reason why one wouldn't.
You can get a six pack with proper diet, a healthy amount of cardio, and some abdominal muscle training. Some girls I knew back from high school track and field team had 6-packs. :)

That's a good link. Because of my Type II diabetes, I try to follow the "avoid anything white" guideline.
I have a cis female friend who worked on getting a six pack. She did it, but it took her over 2 years of working out hard and following a good diet.
It takes a lot of self-discipline and perhaps a bit of luck on how your body builds muscle, but I agree that it is possible.

Yeah, you seem like you're already a really thin guy, so hopefully it doesn't take as much work for you. :) You might want to check out some different types of abdominal exercises (http://www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/finder/lookup/filter/muscle/id/13/muscle/abdominals) to tone up your stomach if there's not much fat on it.
I have that stubborn little pouch of fat on my lower belly, but I am hoping with some good diet and exercise I'll finally get that little pouch off. I've never been able to get more than a 4 pack because of that pooch, but I think I'll finally make it this year. Yay, beach this summer for me. :D

Yea Ive actually had a six pack before, Everyone has one under all the fat, But like I said I already have abs, But I walk on the treadmill, I do push ups and sit ups along with some weightlifting, I also wanna get toned up in my arms more
The yoga plank position is a good way to firm up the abs.
One thing that may work too is the 30 day fitness challenge.
There's tons of different ones, but some good ab ones I've done are the plank challenge and the ab challenge. They're only written for 30 days but I'm sure you could continue it yourself if it works for you.
http://30dayfitnesschallenges.com/ (http://30dayfitnesschallenges.com/)
They've also got videos on proper techniques for some of their exercises which is nice since they do some things like sit ups differently than how I learned them.

If you had one as a female bodied person, then why would you believe your sister?
A six pack does require having very low body fat. Most guys don't show them until they're around 10% body fat. Even when Arnold Schwarzeneger was young he didn't have a 6 pack!

Who needs a six pack when you can have a full keg, lol.
But in all honesty, I'd love to have a six pack but I know I'm too lazy to ever achieve that, meh meh meh.

Oh Goddess guys!
The first time I was arrested was trying to get on a bus with a friend after we had 'borrowed' a keg from a pub and got tired carrying it down the street. Ahh we forgot to tell anyone we borrowed it, and escape by public transport. Mmmm you know I'm a genius?
Oh we were underage as well!

In addition to that, there's also a lot of fitness programs you can pick up. There's the BeachBody ones, like the P90 series, along with TapOut which is sold at Target for a more reasonable price. They have a little more variety in them.

Hmm. . . well just thinking, he said when he was younger. Perhaps younger is pre-puberty for him? Before puberty, there wasn't all those female hormones floating around. Once you hit puberty, that's when all the female fat pattern starts. Maybe his sister thought you can't once a female bodied person starts puberty.

Cardio, eating lean, and some strength training. I just started p90x3 this Monday and I am following the nutrition guide it came with. Prior, I did the T-25 program, but I absolutely hated it, I thought it was boring, so my results weren't that good probably because I wasn't excited about the workouts. I had good results with Body Beast program, but to get a 6 pack on that program you already needed to be down to a low bmi because you needed to eat so much on that program.

There's 3 p90x's? So your on the 3rd one? How is the food, I'm a pretty picky person. I would like to loose the pooch too but can't do anything until I heal after surgery.

I didn't do the other ones, I just jumped into 3 because my coworker invited me to do x3 with her. I was going to start at the beginning.
The food is good, because they don't tell you what to eat, they just make suggestions. Its more like "breakfast: 2 proteins, 1 carb, 1 fat" sort of thing, and they give you lists of what counts s fat, carb, protein, etc. so you choose from the lists to make your menu.
Sounds doable with the food. I'd love to see your results over time if you're comfortable. I might have to 'acquire' a copy of the program.

Puberty doesn't change the way your muscles are arranged in your body. Two don't just disappear.
I could be completely wrong here, but my personal experience is that it is a lot harder as a female bodied (and female hormone dominated) person to get a six pack. There's something about the fat distribution on the lower part, at the thighs and lower stomach (near the groin) that makes the lower two abs very hard to see for women. Doesn't mean they aren't there, but they are just less visible. That pooch is very hard to get rid off, but not impossible. I always had a 4-pack as a female, but now that I use testosterone, it's turning into a six pack. Probably because the fat is moving, or disappearing. I don't know. Again, this is my experience and doesn't mean that it is what happens to the majority.

He's not saying the muscles disappear, its just with fat retention its more likely to get covered once you hit puberty. Its the pooch most female bodied persons who aren't hard core athletes or sickly thin have.

Then it is possible, just more difficult. Not the same question.
Can I chime in?
I'm as fit as anything and pre E had a hard lean tummy, post E I have to work like crazy to keep it, even if I lay of for a week the tummy wants to accumulate a fat layer, so sort of the reverse. I can understand this!

Sounds good Alex, I don't have the whole book either. Most of it is about proper form, then food stuff.
