My name is Natallie, from an early time in life I always knew I wasn't like other boys. I never cared about doing real boyish things, never cared to bulk up my arms, and always had a unknown feeling of how I belonged as some one else. So lets fast forward in my life to several months ago. I finally announced to my family one evening that I'm a mtf transsexual and how I've always always wanted to be a girl. This brought up a bunch of "oh so that's why you always did this" or "we should of known when..." Well none the less... several days later they didn't take this change very well and coming from a very pro christian religious family hasn't been helping either. So when I told them about my true self, they pretty much have started to ignore who I am and I get allot of sin this and sin that now whenever I speak... However I can only hope that time will change their views and they will see I'm still the same loving child they brought into the world.
However I do not regret who I am and who I have been containing my entire life. My life is changing for the better and I'm proud to finally start down the right road. So if your still reading this. My name is Natallie, I'm 22 and I'm here to be myself and learn on the way.
A big warm welcome to the family baby! I am your new sister down south in Oklahoma. I know exactly what you are going through as it is the same here. My daughter (the female Billy Graham) has already reserved a room for me in hell. I said, uh, OK thanks! *giggle* ;D You are like me and have a huge family now. This place saved my life and I can tell you if we don't have the answers here, the questions don't exist. This is a treasure trove of knowledge, personal experience, caring, compassion and fun. Feel free as a family member to ask, rant, vent, share the good or ask for a shoulder to cry on. You will find it all here. When you get 15 postings feel free to PM me if you ever need anything at all. It is a small world baby, I live less than 20 minutes from another Susan's family member. We are all over the place any city, any country and any hemisphere. I look forward to getting to know you better in the postings. Here is a BIG HUG ( :icon_hug:) to start your journey off right! :)
Welcome Natallie
Wecome Natallie. We have some other members from Kansas.
I have found from our Christian members here, that one can be devout and trans at the same time. If your family has a scriptural problem with you, ask them if they disagree with Rev. Pat Robertson, who said,
"I think there are men who are in a woman's body. It's very rare, but it's true. Or there are women in men's bodies...."
"I don't think there's any sin associated with [transitioning from male to female or female to male]. I don't condemn somebody for doing that."
A heartfelt hello from the wheat province of Saskatchewan! :)

Lots of us get the 'so thats why...' bit so just let your fem out and they'll get used to it even if they do think the Mighty Hand of God may smash down on the old homestead.

I've been trying the "a little at a time goes a long way" metaphor and hopefully it will payoff in a positive manner.

Hello Natalie,
A warm hug from someone else in the wheat state.
Hello! Glad to meet a fellow sand bowl dweller ^_^
Hi Natallie,
Welcome to the family. We've got your back. :D I am of the opinion that coming out as trans does some real trauma to the world view of your friends and family members. They have to work their way through it and that takes time. Not everyone comes around, but have a little patience, they might just surprise you.
In the meantime, you've found a safe place to discuss how you feel and seek advice. You don't have to be alone. :D
