Title: Help! (Transboy With Binding Issues!)
Post by: AlphaMale on January 10, 2014, 09:15:35 PM
I am a transboy. I am a B-Cup and still growing. From observing the women in my family, I will probably get a massive chest.
I want to bind. People still know me as my birth name, and am not trying to pass as male, but I would feel more comfortable with a flatter chest. I wear a sports bra currently, but it doesn't do a great job.
My mother would never buy me a binder or anything too compressive. She's not angry with me for being trans or anything, but she thinks that binding is practically devil worship. I understand it's very dangerous, but it's really not as dangerous as she thinks it is. She thinks that you will pretty much pass out if you try to stand up in a binder.
I have a locker-room issue. I use the girl's locker room, so it can't be too obvious that I'm wearing something FTM. I would also settle for something not for school, and just for special occasions, however.

So what I need:

~Safe (Or at least something my mother will think is safe)
~Cheap (Under 40 US Dollars)
~Decent job, doesn't have to make me look totally flat, however.
~Not obvious that it's FTM.

I know that's a lot to ask for. If anybody has any specific brands of sports bras that are compressive and come in my size, I'd love that. Thank you so much.

Hi! I couldn't help but notice just how similar we are. My mother won't buy my binder that I picked out yesterday, and she really thinks that it is some kind of devil thing.  I just need to get my visa card and then I will buy it. I am a C cup.
I know about breathing problems since I have 2 hernia's, I have learned to be very careful.
From what I have read so far, I think Underworks in a great place to buy a binder.

That's the 998 model that I am going to buy soon.
Appearance:It doesn't look obviously guyish to me, but I'm not sure I have great judgement since I wear boxer briefs and a tank top in my suite.
Cost: It's a good price to me. Should be about $40
Sizing: I am a small, but I am going to buy a medium. One of my closest friends is a tailor, so I just plan to have her fix it whenever I have any problems.
I am a 36 C, but I wear 32B bra's :P

You could try one of the short type binders like this http://www.lesloveboat.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=130 - they look a lot like sports bras so you might be able to get away with your mum and school not realising that it's a binder.

Hey, I noticed that we're pretty similar. Right now I'm also a B cup, and not trying to make it too obvious that I'm binding. Are you okay with buying stuff online? I use two different binders that I bought from ebay, and although that might not sound great, they both work very well!
This one is quite good, although the sizing is very small and its a little high at the armpits:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251245214760?var=550221098841&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/251245214760?var=550221098841&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649)
And this one is my favourite and have bought it in several colours:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/300884958446?var=600097002489&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/300884958446?var=600097002489&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649)

The great thing about these two is that they look like normal vests and they have 3/4 sizing options as they use buckles. When my mum came across one I told her I used it for PE, so they dont look like your regualr binder, and they don't bind superflat.

Good luck btw :)

Or you could try this one, as it really is a sports bra, so you will for sure be able to get away with it with no one knowing it is a compression garment (mom and locker room).

It is new, so I don't know if there are reviews out there on it.
