I can't sleep. I took a shower before bed, and that usually means no deoderant. So 6 hours of laying awake later, my arm pits are starting to smell (how ladylike).
I'm not on HRT yet. I was wondering if HRT changed your chemestry enough to where you either dont smell bad, or you smell different. Thoughts? Experiences? Medical jargen?
Yes that seems quite common, male pheromones disappear and we start to release female pheromones. Our body chemistry changes and many of us smell different than we did.
Many also start to notice 'man smell' which is rather pleasant if you are turned on by men!
ummmm wow did not honestly conect the two...... but yes i have noticed my smell start to change and i have been repulsed by the smell of men..... more proof that im a lesbian at heart :)
Yes it does change, for me it reduced perspiration and changed the smell to a more sweet type of smell, it is more tolerable than man smell but still not pleasant to go without deodorant.
B.O. is caused by bacteria on the skin breaking down sweat (sweat itself is apparently relatively odourless) (see this page (http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/173478.php) for example). Pheromones no doubt have something to do with it, but I wonder if men, since they are usually covered in more, thicker and longer body hair trap more sweat on their body for the bacteria to eat? I've noticed a distinct drop in B.O. for me but it also coincides with being waxed from neck to toe.
I'm not funky anymore! It is soooo nice. YES, it does. :)
even in rare hot weather in UK i just do not smell so something has definietly altered.
Yes, definitely. I wasn't particularly funky smelling before, but I just don't get BO at all now. And, as others have said my sense of smell has greatly improved and I now notice that other people stink. Heck, everything stinks now
I definitely noticed this. Now when I work hard I smell like a sweaty girl, not a sweaty boy
Yes, my body odor went from male to female in every way.
Yeah it most certaintly does change it...
and feels pretty awesome too :)
Within a few weeks I distinctly smelled female and I no longer get that nasty guy funk on me.
I also don't miss the smell of Axe deodorant.
Some time ago, I returned to my parents house and stayed in my old room. The smell of boy was still in the air. It smelled kind of good... but I didn't want to smell like that ever again.
I noticed I don't smell anymore so I've stopped using deodorant because I don't really need to.
yea, big difference

That's true as I understand it. That's different than pheromones though. My understanding (I may have seen it on a science show) is that male bodies produce more pheromones and female bodies are more sensitive and responsive to them. Men do have more body hair including more armpit hair. The armpits, genital region, and anal region produce more pheromones and apparently the extra hair in those regions is there is to create more surface area to allow them to spread. The downside is that it is more surface area for bacteria. So shaving can help a lot with reducing body odor but it might also impede pheromones.
