Title: Temporary Stoppage of HRT
Post by: EllieG on January 12, 2014, 07:34:18 PM
For reasons I'd rather not get into, I had to go off of hormones for a little over a month.  I had been on them for 7-8 months prior.

I was making really good progress, but after just 1 month it seems the majority of the progress, atleast in terms of breast growth, has been lost.

I'm back on them now, and have been for a week.  Will I resume breast growth?  Or did I lose my window of opportunity?  Am I starting over, and changes will return, or am I out of luck?

Kind of stressed about it, really.  Any general help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ellie  :icon_wave:

Welcome to Susan's  :)  Glad to have you here

I've had to go off HRT at least a couple of times that I can remember, one time was for a shoulder surgery and the other time was for other reasons

Anyway, to answer your question, no you are not out of luck and most likely your progress will pick up and continue as before  :)

Please be sure to review

Thank you for the quick reply V M!  I probably should of introduced myself first, but the past week I've been rather sad about the lost progress so I cut right to the chase  :)

I'm glad to hear that I should once again see myself going in the right direction.  I sure hope it doesn't take another 7-8 months to get back to where I was!

Hi EllieG!
Don't worry about it hon it will kick right back in from where you left off. I actually de-transitioned after several years and went on male hormones for two years and had a wtf moment and went back on female HRT and bam! it all came back in spades!

Ellie,

That happened to me.  I started HRT in Jan. 2012 and got taken off mid. Oct. for two months.  Everything came right back.  This time, it took about four weeks to get back what I had lost.  You may be faster, you may be slower but hang in there, it will happen.

Welcome to Susans!  Don't limit yourself to just one question though...

Hugs,

Jen

Don't fret Ellie.  Think of it this way, do natal women who enter menopause suddenly lose their boobage?
