Hello everyone, my name is Freyjja.
I live in South Australia and have gotten my referral to see a Psych named Robert Lyons.
I have read a lot about him and there seems to be alot of people saying he's amazing then others saying he is not their cup of tea which makes me very nervous as I'm autistic and easily shaken up in stressful situations.
I am now in the process of writing a cover letter to him and it is getting me very uncomfortable, I feel like I'm taking an exam on memory lane and 1 wrong answer could have me back to square one. Can anyone relate to this? I'm probably over thinking but I'm sure some girls out there understand. Is there any other gender therapists to see in South Australia if things don't work out with him? Perhaps someone with experience with or knowledge on autism?
Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!
Freyjja~
Hi Freyjja,
I know Rob very well, he is a charming man with more experience than most in the world. He has a very deep and clear understanding of autism. Don't worry!
Just be honest.
Oh and the first session will start off. Hi My name is Rob, what name do you wish me to use for you? Please take a seat.
email me or pm me if you wish.

Thank you for the quick reply, Cindy! I have received a lot of helpful information from you since our brief exchange of emails late last year :)
I finished my cover letter and am pleased with it so far. It includes some history of my childhood/teen years, problems i had/have growing up with Autism including my assessment and also my issues involving gender dysphoria. Is that okay for a the letter or have I misunderstood what the letter should be about? Thanks for all of your help and suggestions :)
