Yes, today is one of those days.
So I got up early and watched Amelie on Netflix. There's only a few movies that make me feel real good when things are bleak, and they are:
Amelie - Humorous French film subtitled in English on Netflix
The Big Empty - Strange and funny on DVD
Room In Rome - Spanish movie in English on Netflix (caution - lesbian theme with nudity)
I loved Amelie, I identified with the main character very much. Makes me smile thinking about it.. I guess for me it would be "Y.P.F." (Don't ask me what it stands for)... Just generally weird and wonderful movies that leave me buzzed for hours
Moonrise Kingdom
the Imaginarium of Dr. Parnasas
Being John Malkovich
Strictly Ballroom
box of moonlight, time bandits, big trouble in little china, bowfinger
Thanks girls. Haven't seen half of what's on your lists. Need to check 'em on Netflix
You know the other day I happened upon a movie in Netflix. The title is But Im a cheerleader.
It is a gay related movie but very cute I have to say.

These two are on my list now. The others aren't on Netflix. Oh well.
Gay related? No problem Katie, I'm lesbian. :)
I don't watch films when I am down. I prefer watching documentaries of people suffering unimaginable medical afflictions. This helps me to balance my mind and be mindful that there are so many people in the world suffering a great deal more than I am. When I think about my life after seeing another persons life, I am very grateful to be my problems and not theirs.
Movies are fine, but for me, these documentaries give me the reality check I need. Peace to all.
Lost in Translation always lifts me up. My favorite movie.

I loved Lost in Translation!
Wayne's World always made me laugh, but I don't have a video player anymore and it's just gathering dust.
Babia Majora ;D

If she were a president she'd be Baberaham Lincoln...ah I cried tears I laughed so much :D
I wish I could watch that clip on my phone.

Interesting touch Trisha. I like it.
And all of your films are good. I'll add Blazing Saddles in my go-to-list
the prestige
havent seen it in a while but i tear up nearly every time. or i get chills. always one of the two. DONT SPOIL THE ENDING PEOPLE NOT EVERYONES SEEN IT. its really irritating when people do that. I LOVE THE PART AT THE END WHEN. no. just dont.
anyway.
forrest gump makes me cry. several times throughout. overrated movie but just because i think most people only talk it up because its so hyped. its incredible.
Dave
Groundhog Day
Two movies about personal transformation that never fail to really lift my spirits.
Oh hell. I forgot about Forest Gump and Groundhog Day. :)
When I'm sad, I always loved watching Back to the Future; things can always be more complicated than being trans. Lost in Translation is also fantastic; I can be in the darkest mood, and Bill Murry can snap me out of it. :)
