I'm currently on T gel, but I'm almost positive my doctor is going to recommend that I switch to injections soon. There is no way I can do intramuscular. The problem is, my doctor has never had anyone do subcutaneous before, so he doesn't want to start me on it without checking with at least one other doctor who has done it. If anyone here is on subcutaneous injections, could you please give me the name and contact info of your doctor or endo? Thank you.
I'm doing SubQ and have been for a year. It's wonderful and I like it a lot better than IM in my personal opinion. I've had no issues with changes coming in slower or anything. I go to the Mazzoni center in Philadelphia, PA. They recommend that all of transguy patients do subQ. I don't know if that helps or not, but I'd think that if a huge organization in a major city is doing it, that' be enough. You can find all their information on their website.
What I think you are needing is a protocol for subQ, as it is different. Dr Norman Spack in Boston has been doing this for years. Here is an article about it. http://transguys.com/ref/research/subcutaneous-injections
There is a scholarly article which may have more specific info, if your doc is interested. It's where I would start anyway.
