I have a question. Lets say a member had left the site because of personal issues. the member later reregistered under a variation of the original name. In essence getting a clean slate or rebirth, This hypothetical individual wanted to post an avatar of themselves, but couldn't because others would readily connect the dots. The hypothetical question unrelated to reality is that , would that former member be penalized in any way by posting a picture of them self and reveling that they had once been this other member. purely hypothetical
People sometimes do that - leave and then come back with a different account name. I don't see what there is to be penalised for. Folks are allowed to change their mind. :) If anything, I think they would more likely be welcomed back.
The only time there might be issues is if they made a different account to try and get around a ban, or something like that.

Agreed. The only time I'd have a problem with it is if they do it to get around a ban. ;)
