I'm in the center, almost exact center of this.

And here I am drinking a cold beer wearing my bikini!
I don't suppose that helps much?

It was good for an envious laugh. How much is that plane ticket?
-45 to -50 degrees!!? :(
Aw I'am sorry Kat, its a scorcher here though, 9 degrees! I hope you have your winter coat!
Ughhh the cold, I've been fantasizing about an early spring.
Would warm pictures of beaches, sand and sun help... ;)

If I wore a bikini I would be locked up for breaching some false advertising code or other!
I would however happily cool my feet in the water while sipping from a chilled glass of wine.
I do hope the weather improves for you northern folks though. Sends warm thought in your general direction.
Hail, Oh Great LordKat!
I share in thy great misery, for I am but 200 miles due west of thy current local and am suffering though my flesh and into my very bones in this terrible, bitter cold.
(The old English verbiage just sounds better sometimes. They just had a way of portraying misery so well. I kind of like it although I don't think even it quite conveys the physical and mental torture of this weather.)
Hugs of warmth,
Jen
I thought about making a thread called "sNOOOOOOOOw!!!" with much the same sentiment. Not only is it bitterly cold, it keeps snowing on and off too. Plus the wind; it chills me just listening to it.
I think this winter is starting to take its toll on my psyche. I don't want to go outside, I don't even want to get out of bed.
And I'm at the bottom of this map, I'd hate to feel what it's like further north.
To be totally honest; I feel for you all so much.
I can't believe how cold it must be, please be safe.
Sydney, Summer, beaches, spare room.

Oh goddess is that room going to be crowded!
Better make sure I have plenty of Kitty litter
Wow! I would hate those freezing temperatures.
Today afternoon, I thought it was chilly here after coming back from Busan, a mainland city. In Busan, it was warm, despite some rain.

Yesterday I wore my new jacket for spring, but sometimes I felt it is too warm inside of the building. At a China town in Busan yesterday:

Today a couple from Seoul are visiting here in my hometown. They said it is far warmer than Seoul.
barbie~~
I am so, so so sorry you live smack dab in the middle of Michigan LordKat!
Oh wait, were you talking about the cold? :D
(try to stay warm! :))
I can put up with cold,it's wet I don't like. It's the sort of rain seen in Bladerunner here today.

Jeez, makes 9F (not including windchill, with it is expect we're around -15F) look good for us on the other side of Lake Michigan.
I'll send MSU blankets, scarves, hats, and gloves! And warm Willow hugs!
A while ago, I was talking with a friend who had just moved from Southern California. When I asked her what the differences were between here and there, her answer was, "hard to get used to the fact that the weather can kill you!"
Hang in there, dude. Spring is coming. I promise.
Winters like this is why I'd love to take the people that start crying how hot it is when the temps hit up into the 80's and tie them naked to a stake outside as a sort of reality therapy why warm or hot is good.
Looking at this map I'm half-glad I didn't get that job in Wisconsin after that interview I had with them on site in 2012...
Oh hell, who am I kidding, if I got that job I'd be independent already and likely to be almost done saving up for SRS at this point due to the 70k salary they were offering :v. But hey, at least we haven't reached the negatives here yet in the NYC suburbs.

Just need the plane ticket. See ya soon.
I am not sure human life can even exist at those temperatures.

Maybe we should just transmogrify into penguins.
Yeesh! Even in the middle of our winter it doesn't get anywhere near that cold in Sydney! Doesn't even go under 32F/0C...except for maybe five minutes overnight on the coldest winter night...

Let me know when you get here - Jen and I will show you around town!
I wonder if I have to thaw out the plane first? Now where id I leave that passport?
Makes me miss home...seriously, it warmer in Fairbanks Alaska right now... O.O
I heard we're due for another eight inches of snow tomorrow. :icon_censored:
Snowing in Blackpool now
we got warmer and snowed on yesterday. Back to cold but only -10F.
Today is the lunar new year here, and it reached 15 C (or 59 F). We climbed a nearby volcanic cone.

There are 365 volcanic cones called here 'Oreum'. http://english.jeju.go.kr/index.php/contents/culture-nature/nature/oreum/definition

Snowiest January ever in my neck of the woods (Michigan). Was about 33 today, felt like summer.. Now bout to get 3-6 inches of snow, last I heard, mixed with ice, sleet, rain then more snow. Another storm coming Tues-Weds also. Worst winter ever!
Another part of my country is facing heavy snow like this one:
(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimgnews.naver.net%2Fimage%2F001%2F2014%2F02%2F08%2FPYH2014020802360006200_P2_59_20140208172407.jpg&hash=c60fbcb552b92fa8882df031e09043d361a0f6c0)
Here in my home town, we just had heavy rains for 3 days. Spring is coming, anyway. I am wearing knee-high socks with short pants!

heh... I live in the general area of where LordKat is at and it's been a darn cold year. A few of these days where it's been -40 we've been lucky to have the inside of our apartment 60 degrees because the heat can't keep up with the temps outside. I've had two family members with burst water lines in their homes and I had a water main break upstream from me that knocked me out of water for a good 6 hours.
This has been a long... loooonnngggg winter.

I've just about had it with winter :(
Getting migraines just about every day from the stress not to mention freezing my ass off when I parked in the lot for the bus to university (driving and paying for underground parking hurts the budget but would rather that then hope the bus is on time and then hope car starts because 0 F or whatever....)
Just make it stop x___x
I don't worry so much about the weather because I live in SoCal. It's cold to me but not to, say, New Yorkers.
But I do find the winter depression to be a real bummer.
Just to warm you up!
Adelaide's hottest summer on record
If Adelaide reaches its forecasted top of 41 today, a 117-year-old record for the greatest number of summer days over 40 degrees will be smashed.
And 43C tomorrow!
Cindy and assorted Aussies are melting. Anyone have a refrigerated jet to send them all this snow?
