So I'm definently going to college, and I'm definently not going to be able to afford my own apartment. This isn't that big of a problem, except that I probably won't have had top surgery. Now, I feel pretty anxious about the shower situation. Do most college showers have stalls, or are they like free for all gym showers? I wouldn't mind open showers If I had top surgery, but it'd be pretty hard to keep your chesticles out of the next guy overs peripheral vision. Did anyone shower at college w/o top surgery, or did you shower somewhere else during college? (Pls don't link to FTM handbook I've read it a ton)
showers are in stall forms or have curtains. If your going to be a freshmen, it will be stalls or curtains for showers. When you become an upperclassmen and chose who you want to dorm with, you get your own bathroom that you share with your roommates and the door locks and the shower has a curtain in there too. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions regarding college and such feel free to hit me up.
I'm not personaly in college but my best friend says she has stalls.
depends on the college
my college has bathrooms shared between anywhere from 2-6 people. Double rooms with their own bathroom in all freshman dorms, upperclassmen dorms are either private bathrooms or shared between up to 6 people. It's like a real bathroom- toilet, bathtub/shower, etc in one room that locks.

Right, but his main concern is if he will be alone in the shower. All of the above is with private stalls for toilets and private stalls for showers, right?
At my college and a friends college it was, don't think it will be that different
You could call the school you are going to and just ask how the showers are.

Yep, my brother's freshman dorm had it's own bathroom for each room, so it was just my brother and his roommate sharing the bathroom.
For me i didnt have the fortune of being out before i moved into my dorm. Now i use the single bathroom for people like me, its private and gender neutral. If you feel uncomfortable with the guys and can get the neutral bathroom go for that, but if not the showers are all curtained off no ones going to see you. Some are even double curtained for max privacy.
In my school most of the showers are stalls with curtains, some are shared single-shower bathroom with a lock and curtains, and I think in most colleges they will have at least curtains. In any situation you will not be exposed.
My school gym has stalls and communal showers, but I rarely shower or change in the locker room.
If you are still concerned you can always ask someone in that college or take a visit.
Two words: Coed Dorm! Problem solved. :)

What's coed? Isn't that like the women's sorority thing?..

Co-educational. Aka men and women in the same dorm
I'll bet the schools with gender neutral housing have this situation covered.
