I was wondering where do you learn how to be a girl like fashion,jargen and mannerisms, ext.. basically things that most girls learn throughout their lives. Any ideas on reading material and shows would be awesome. Thanks

I guess most of it comes naturally to me:). Its more like unlearning how to be a guy.
But I did learn how to do my makeup so I didn't look like a drag queen ( yuck) and I learned to pick the right colors of clothes to match my personality ( I basically wear black and grey)
There are lots of videos to teach you how to appear more feminine. Try YouTube or even the library for books on doing your makeup etc..
Try one of those women's beauty magazines.
Yea I guess most of it would be unlearning my guy act :P but I was wondering like the talk and up to date fashions and styles ext.. like as a guy I can walk and talk with the rest of them and know about all the popular male styles and hygiene and grooming products and so on. But if you asked me about female hairstyles,perfume, and clothing id be absolutely clueless
Once I started living full-time, it's all been coming naturally. I often surprise myself with spontaneous feminine mannerisms.
Never ever ever read those magazines, they'll only make you hate yourself.
For make up. Get a friend to help, most girls learn with other friends, go to a make up store or department store that will show & teach you & watch a lot of YouTube. I'm learning new things via YouTube & I've been post op for years.
Fashion, you need to understand your body type then buy around that.
Talking, everyone has their own style. But listen & watch your friends, study them.
Hi Jenelle! Go to where girls shop and watch them. What do they look at, buy or how do they act and talk like around each other. That is the best way to absorb popular girl culture. Look at the store displays. What is being advertised? What colors and fabrics? What is the style? Stores and malls can educate those that study all that is going on. Libraries are also treasure troves. Tons of girls and women's magazines by the dozen. Use your imagination. :)
When I transitioned (1974) I immersed myself in the world of women knowing that I knew NOTHING and had everything to learn. When you are among women 100% of the time things come fast.

I've always been fascinated by females. I paid attention to movies/TV/Books intended for women, hung around women a lot, and observed them. I got a lot of knowledge of how they present themselves and how they make their every day lives work.
Having a femle friend really helps, I think
Start doing research and studying everything you can about other girls when you our out.

My appearance, mannerism and language are a complete mixture of those typical women and men. I do not intentionally mimic the style of other people. I wear what I love to wear, and I speak in my natal and natural voice, although my voice is very manly and crude. Although I do not intend at all, sometimes people say my body gesture is very feminine. I once hated it before understanding my ->-bleeped-<-.
