Okay so I know some guys don't feel the need to stp, but It just makes my dysphoria weaken a lot. I've been using an STP fitz nipple style for about 3 months now, and its okay. But lately there's been times where I didnt have a good seal and whiz ran down my leg. So are medicine spoons easy to use and are the seals better? Also, are they comfortable in your pants or do you have to be careful not to smash them?
I have one of those unfortunate unruly urethras that won't let me STP, lol. It tends to spray in different directions and the flow is rather heavy so it can't keep up with STP. But I can't say, although I ultimately had no luck with the "nipple type" STP, I had worse luck with the medicine spoon.
That said with how cheap medicine spoons are, you have little to lose if you practice at home.
I use a spoon, I'm really good with it. I'm not great peeing through my fly, so I use stalls. I'm currently using a modified spoon. When held horizontal the spoon opening isn't angles back its horizontal.
You could try both. You could cheaply make either one of these and see how they work for you. I think theyd' each have their pros and cons. And some guys could use both as well and some guys couldn't use either. I think others might have a clear preference. The nipple style really IS a baby nipple and some tubing. I actually made a packer with this. It works ok (nothing works great for me but a pstyle, though I haven't figured out just how I'd carry that). It feels okay next to the skin, imo.

I've never used a medicine spoon style, the STP Fitz worked well for me. The one I have now is the Model D from NumberOneLaboratories. It's a funnel style and works wonders. I definitely recommend it. I've never had an issue with backflow, you just have to learn how to control how much and how quickly you urinate.
