Does anyone have a contact for the VA for Rochester,NY ombudsman or patient advocate who handles the trans patients care? Please help! Thank you all :D

Sarah,

  The VA health system has recently come up with a VA wide policy letter to include transgender care. Services are limited to counseling, hormones and other drug therapy, and lab tests.

  Start with talking to your VA primary care physician and request counseling from mental health clinics.

  Yes, I know that transgender care is not officially a mental health issue, but we also may or may not have other mental health issues and the counselors familiar with transgender issues are part of the mental health clinics at VA hospitals.

Do you know where to get a copy of the VA letter? Should be working through VA in next year and can't hurt to be prepared ;D
