Title: Est only, no T-blockers?
Post by: Danielle Sherry on February 05, 2014, 05:12:03 PM
Hey Ladies, BIG truth time (followed by a question).

I've been on the path of feminization now for approximately two months and dramatic changes have taken place...

* My hair is growing out, and my wife loves it. For the passed ten years I've simply been buzzing my head once-a-month (recruit style). I have a full head of hair, I just never wanted to be bothered maintaining it. My wife is a hairdresser by trade and she is now styling my hair everyday. It looks amazing and gets better every day.

* I've dropped weight, and my wife loves it. Was 235, now 190 and falling. A vast improvement in body proportions. I've had to go back to wearing jeans that I haven't been able to fit into for ten years.

* I started shaving my body, painting my toenails, wearing light mascara (amazing how much better I look!) and my wife loves it. Now that I've lost weight, my legs are looking great. Because of the cold weather I'm wearing stockings with my toes in full view. Korea is a much different culture, much more feminine. Many boys wear makeup here. Everyone loves my toes.

* My confidence level is way up, and my wife loves it. I don't mince around the house with a stupid smile on my face. I've become very focused on what I want and bold with what I'm doing.

* I started smoking, and my wife loves it. There is no stigma attached to smoking Virginia Slim cigarettes here and I take full advantage of it (I know this is fetishy. Please don't flame me too hard). I've also stopped bothering her about her smoking habit (and my wife loves it). Funny thing about it is that, after years of whining about a horrible habit (it's really bad for your health) I'm really enjoying it.

* My wife and I have grown closer over the passed two months, and we both love it. Sex has vastly improved and we are having a lot of fun.

* I'm making serious plans to go to Thailand for an orchiectomy .. and my wife hates it .. and I think I'm with her. Surgically altering one's body is a radical move, not to mention expensive and a life-long dependence on pharmaceuticals (which really rubs me the wrong way). Also, I run a risk of destroying my career. Korea may be a more feminine culture but if I walk into a classroom with brand new B-cups I'd wind-up on television. This would out me in a way that could be bad .. really bad.

Question ladies, what if I simply did an estrogen gel? No T-blockers (I'm 50 years old. I've got about the same T-level as a loaf of white bread anyway). I'm already doing flaxseed oil and DHEA (both jack up the estrogen levels). What do you think the results would be if I simply did that?

Thanks again ladies, all of you have been a great help.

This made me laugh.  Sorry, I don't have an answer I don't know much about HRT as I haven't started yet.

But thanks for the laugh.

The only thing I can help with is that flaxseed has estrogenic properties, but flaxseed oil is devoid of almost all of those estrogen receptor agonists...so it's not doing much for your feminization.......but it's really good for you, so no reason to stop.

You could try some green or black tea.....strong green and black teas have strong antiandrogenic activity by inhibiting a high amount of 5 alpha reductase.  It'll increase your actual testosterone levels significantly, but drop your dihydrotestosterone levels significantly as well...

I started on estrogen only... and my T levels dropped like a rock, so I never ended up moving on to adding AAs. My one warning is that you don't know how you'll respond, and some people (especially those coming in with very low natural T) do have an excellent reaction to estrogen. Which it sounds like might be a *bad* result for you, if you're hoping for subtle physical changes?

(By month 4 on a very low dose of estrogen, I was never misgendered by face alone and was a 42C. It's uncommon, but anyone willing to get on the HRT ride has to be aware that physical and permanent changes can happen faster or more dramatically than they planned.)

Thanks for the input ladies.

Thank you Jenna. I did a quick read on the internet last night about just using est and they confirmed what you're saying. I was turned off last night because of the emails I'm getting from these Thai hospitals. As I said in another post, one of the doctors is asking for $4000. 4000? For a thirty minute operation?! Another email was from a "surgeon" willing to do it for $200. Good grief!

I'm also trying to visualize the end result (me with breasts) and how I would handle that. My students would love it .. their parents might not (and the parents write the checks). I'm not in a position to roll the dice on my career quite yet.

After reading on the web, I was thinking that at my age this may be simpler than flying to Thailand and having the boys permanently removed from the house. It may be as easy as coming clean with a local urologist and getting a prescription for a cream or gel. I could probably do this today .. within minutes.

Can anyone explain to me the difference between phytoestrogens found naturally in flax and soy and the soy-based (bio-mimetic) pill or cream derivatives sold as medication? Oriah was trying to explain this to me. What's present in the pill or cream form that's not there when you grind flaxseeds and add them to yogurt? Oriah was saying something about receptor antagonists .. this went over my head. Anyone up on this?

Huh? What? Ah...Ok, huh? What the deal? Are you a cross dresser? You seem to like to dress up and play with the wife. Why are you thinking of hormones? Transsexualism is more than growing out one's hair and lighting a Virginia Slim and smoking the wife.

Are you trans?

Hey DrZoey.

Sorry for the confusion doc, however, confusion seems to be the zeitgeist at the Sherry home (having fun though).

Labels. Useless if you ask me. Popularized by our frantic capitalist delusion. The struggle to put everything into a neat little category with a sticker and a warning label (I feel a warm flush of safety just talking about it!). Keeps the fear-factor down when things are labelled. We know what it is, someone or some institution told us so.  Much easier to show our toys to our friends when it has a label.

I don't do category DrZoey. I don't do label.

What is, is. God said so (yes, He talks to me when I drink).
