Hello there! I'm a 49 year old about to start my transition. Have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria having attended counselling with psychologist since last year. Excited, nervous, apprehensive starting a new phase in my life. Will appreciate the support, advise and feedback from all the girls here. Commencement of hormones by gender clinic with support from local gp will be the next action taken! Just waiting contact from either sandy ford gender clinic in Glasgow or chalmers clinic in Edinburgh.
Welcome to Susan's, Elizabeth. Congrats to you on proceeding forward with your transition.
:)
Hi Elizabeth
I'm just started at 44. Good luck to you with your transition. Are you excited! :)
Congrats and welcome to the forum Elizabeth.
Glad you are finding your way on the path. It is not a easy path we walk but it is all so much possible to be happy.
Need to stay true to your inner self. Remember its your life for happiness.

Hi Elizabeth,
A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.
There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.
Lovely name you have. Very distinctive. Congratulation in the new life, you never chose. It was destiny. Amazing how you can feel excited, nervous and apprehensive all at once isn't it. Bet you couldn't have done that before ;D
Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.
Lotsa huggs
Catherine
A big warm welcome to the family! :) I started at 47 and let me tell you it has been the most exciting time in my life. Get ready for a ride you will not ever forget when you get to HRT. Here is a BIG HUG ( :icon_hug:) to start your life with us out right! :)
Many thanks for your kind words of support! I'll reckon I'll need them in the weeks ahead. I have the support of my dear mother and my neighbour has been a godsend. I do worry about my workplace and the reaction of colleagues. Working for socialwork and assisting other vulnerable people with their own issues makes this difficult as I wish to still remain professional and be taken seriously. Will adopt changes at work slowly - ie dress sense. I hope I can transition well as physical changes occur. Unfortunately due to being partially bald I will have to rely on using wigs. A make up artist who has been very sympathetic and understanding has helped me a lot. Much love for now! Xx
Best of luck to you Elizabeth.
Glad to have you here. :)

I quite overawed at the resources here and getting to know all the wonderful and diverse people here should be fun and so informative. A real confidence booster now that I have posted my first pic of myself thro my avatar!
