Title: TGEOYM
Post by: Lara the Lover and the Fighter on February 09, 2014, 03:58:48 AM
So, last month I showed up with a post called "That squares it" or something like that.  A bunch of us ended up celebrating January as "Transgender Work Your Friggin Butt Off Month" or TWYFBOM for short.
The month of February is going to be different.  At least for me it is. I am really sick and tired of being so hard on myself.  Every masculine quality in my face, in my body, I am TIRED OF IT!  So I declare February to be:

Transgender Go Easy On Yourself Month or TGEOYM

I love those acronyms.  Anyway this month I want everyone to post something nice about themself.  NO NEGATIVE STUFF ABOUT YOURSELF.  NONE....or else.....
Or else you ruin the month darn it!  Now go for it!  What do you like about yourself physically, mentally, spiritually?  GO!

I'll go first!  Sure my face is masculine but I love that it is somewhat feminine and I think it is a good starting point for transitioning.
Also, I love my new diet and yoga routine.
Oh and I love my headband!

Sorry ,  as much as I tried , I just couldn't find something that I like about the way I am now , it feels like I have huge  obstacles In every single  feature and trait  , physical , emotional and mental ones .I am just not a good starting point for transitioning to a full time girl . :'(

I hope I didn't  ' ruin the month '  though , I am glad that some of you are still happy and optimistic.

Claudia, sweetheart, you took your avatar down, but from what I recall you have a quite feminine face.  And I loved the way you did your eyebrows.

So really, cutie, go easy on yourself.

Yes , I took it down , I just couldn't stand seeing myself anymore . I am not feminine at all , believe me , face or rest of the body . When I am the most optimistic and happy , I am still aware that I am way below average and/or passing , so I don't have any power to hope . Sorry for ruining a great topic though , I shouldn't let my problems ruin everyone's mood . I am really happy for you all being happy and beautiful  :)

If that's you in your avatar then maybe you are being hard on yourself. That's a female face.

My legs! They are a little more muscular than I would like, but if they never changed I would still be satisfied with them. Well shaped(I think) and smoother and softer than my ex's.  :)
It's actually agony, when I go out, to cover up the one thing about myself that I am  happy with.

My hair has grown down past my shoulders and is a beautiful lite brown-- and hides my face!

Hey, hon.  I'm, like, Shrek-style ugly when it comes to exterior femininity.  You are too hard on yourself.  The reason why is that our minds are used to seeing our "old" selves.  We still see the guy who used to be there.  I never knew that guy, so all I see when I look at your picture is a pretty girl.  In my fondest dreams it is unlikely I could ever get to where you are ... but I am learning to really love my girl inside.

You can too.  :)

Although I am not on HRT or anything, I love that I have green/speckled blue/grey eyes one day and light green hazel the next. I love that I am a good parent and my babies love me back. I have very long legs with feminine calves.

That is as good as it gets, I already feel narcissistic lol now!

I like that I seem to be able to make people feel better, and help others to get to where they want to be. That makes me happy.

I was on the treadmill tonight (got to break 200 Friday) and I kept looking down at my breasts. Not huge but nice and getting bigger. I think I  had a growth spurt this week (really sore and a lot of areola sensation) and I can see a difference :)  :)

I hope you can find the confidence to put the avatar back up sometime.  The point of this post is for all of us trans-sisters to pick each other up.  I am sure that most of us have felt the same way that you do.  At the very least, you can be proud that you are expressing who you are on the inside with bravery and courage.  How many people, trans or not, actually do that??  I can tell you. Not many.  Be proud of yourself.

Hah I am on to you!  You are trying to make me tell you all the masculine things about my face and body that I hate!  All the stuff that is hidden in the picture.  NO!  I won't fall into your trap! lol

I guess what I am trying to say is....thank you so much.

I can't wait for my hair to grow that long!  Awesome!!

That is awesome!  Whenever I get the courage I need to start calling random businesses and asking them questions with my girl voice.  Its so hard to talk with my girl voice when I get such an adrenaline rush. lol

Sweeten the air with your sweet sweet voice!

YES! This is my goal in life!

I thirst like a traveler lost in the desert for the day that I can quench my need to identify myself as a woman.

THANK YOU!

OMG!  I like mine too.  No, no, I LOOOOOOVVVEE mine.  They are tiny but just the fact that I actually have REAL BREAST simply blows my mind!  I can't wait to fill a bra.

Right on. Jessica you're the coolest.  Just looking back on those pictures of myself with my old Captain Haddock beard and my sad droopy eyes.  I want so much to go into the past and just hug that guy.

Yes! Optimism is very optimistic!  Wait that was kind of stupid....

Here is a better one:  remember to enjoy the "now" until you get to the "then". :D

Awesome.  Those things kinda hurt when the bounce don't they?  I never knew until they started to grow.

Thanks so much.  You all had me laughing and crying all at the same time.  THANK YOU!  TGEOYM is awesome!!

First, I'd rather be a manly looking woman than an unhappy man.

Second, I like that we live in a time and age where our transitions are possible and, for the most part, accepted.

Third, and most importantly, I like how my coming out has brought me closer to some of my friends and, again most importantly, myself.
