Title: I So Don't Miss Men's Rooms
Post by: Misato on February 14, 2014, 09:46:20 PM
I don't. I really don't miss them at all. :)

I think my favorite has been the graffiti. From the old life I'm familiar with, well, homophobia on the stall walls. In a women's stall what do I see? "I love my husband!"

Upgrade!

Eh, I used to clean both at a 24/7 restaurant. I have seen some...terrible things, at both genders bathroom stalls. With women it is usually related to the disposal of sanitary napkins, with men....well, they just assume they are to relieve themselves somewhere in the restroom, but details don't seem to be their forte.

Then again, when someone opens one of the sanitary napkin disposals and vomits in it, you also loose lots of respect for humankind.

What astounded me actually, was that women were nearly as bad as men at making a mess in the restroom. I will never understand the motivation people have for doing these things. Is it really that fun to stuff the sink with paper towels and turn the water on? Or for the men to carve "For a good BJ call xxx-xxx-xxxx" into the stall (I have seem women carve such things as "Stacy is a slut" but, rarely phone numbers)?

Frequency of ick has sure seemed to be less.

Still thought, "I love my Husband" was pretty cool. :)

I work in a 24/7 restaurant, on average, I tend to find the women's restroom as being the dirtier of the two. However, I've had many many many more just god-awful experiences with the men's, especially when the midnight, after bar crowd comes in. Poop in the urinal, really??!?!, poop on all the walls, vomit everywhere, just the nastiest things ever.

Yeesh, you have to wonder do they do that at home??? Or are they so discombobulated from using a public facility they can't figure out what the various devices and fixtures are actually for?  :-\

Working in retail, I've learned (through coworkers thankfully) that some people don't seem to know the difference between a fitting room and a bathroom.

The men's loo's at work used to be quite bad, mainly because they weren't cleaned all that often. There was one stall that seemed to be always 'out of use', and when the door was finally swung open one day, there was a whole heap of gross. That being said, management have had to call all the women in the establishment in for a meeting to discuss the proper disposal of sanitary towels, and on more than one occasion.

I'm suddenly feeling lucky. No urine splattered urinals. No urine slick stalls. Ugh!

I stand by my original post and glee. :)

Public restrooms in general, Ew!! Public men's rooms, Absolutely repulsive! I won't use even the women's room if it's dirty. I keep large styrofoam cups, baby wipes, and lysol sanitizer in my vehicles for emergencies. Luckily I've lived here long enough to know which public women's rooms are fit to use, and which one's aren't. ;)

So far since I have been able to use both depending on the occasion as I am not 100% full time yet but soon though is i agree on average the women's has been better for cleanness and smell. I thought the worst bathroom rooms i have ever been in were LAX (mens) now they have been topped by all mens washrooms in Oman (Muscat) by far just disgusting. The best so far has been Japans washrooms at the airport you could eat off of the floors. I have only been in women's washrooms in Canada as Erica has not done any traveling yet and all have been good to great compared to Men,s in the same location.

I don't know about all that cause every time I use the bathroom there's pee all over the seat. Gross. Wipe it off or use a paper seat napkin and sit. It happens cause peeps squat and it splashes all over the seat. I just keep opening doors to I find a clean one. Most of the times these are at the train station, so I maybe they're in a rush or homeless women. Still gross.

Ew, I forgot to mention the small bottle of 90% rubbing alcohol I carry in my purse. Some may see my methods as overkill but I have enough problems without adding some bacterial or parasitic infection to the list from dirty toilet seats. And if it has a butt print on it -forget it! I can't get away fast enough, lol! :) Ew,.. just,..Ew!

Honestly, both genders are disgusting.

People are disgusting.

I will never forget the time I was in dire need of a restroom and I was by the local mall. I tried the main women's restroom. It was closed. Why? Because some freak smeared damn fecal matter on the wall!

UGH!!

SO, I went to the women's restroom in the back of the K mart that was down the hall. IT was closed as well.

Why?

BECAUSE SOMEONE SMEARED FECAL MATTER ON THE WALL!

What the hell is wrong with some people??

I had to plead with the dude to let me in the restroom because I was in VERY urgent need of a restroom at this point. I held my nose, averted my gaze and used the closest stall to the door and got the hell out of there. I went to a nearby restaurant to wash my hands since I couldn't get out of the other restroom fast enough.

Guess I've been lucky? But I've been to rest stops...

Or the staff that cleans just does a better job in one vs. the other and my timing is awesome, but was poor.
