Harnaam was just 11 years old when the beard started appearing and she spent her teenage years desperately trying to remove it.

The primary school teaching assistant endured vile abuse at school and would be stared at in the street. [. . .] she began self harming and even considered taking her own life.

The decision [to leave her facial hair] proved controversial with her family but Harnaam was determined to show that she was beautiful no matter what she looked like.

I initially wasn't going to post this since Harnaam isn't LGBT, but decided to anyways since we can all probably relate to looking ways that society says is unacceptable at times.

Great article/vid, very relatable! She looks great with the beard!

We have transwomen who constantly worry about being able to pass as female and here we have a wonderful, beautiful bearded lady who accepts who she is and happy with the way she looks. I also admire her strength for having to endure the harsh words of people but in the end, people started loving her for who she is!
