Title: Getting the ball rolling and my future
Post by: Brandon on February 21, 2014, 04:30:31 PM
Well I wanna get the ball rolling for HRT, I plan on moving with my dad and he already said tha I can do what ever I wanna do as far as hormones and surgery, Since I found someonewho specializes with trans issues and he plans on calling this weekend I'm really trying to alteast be on T only thing is school people are gonna notice the changes but thats beside the point I'm looking at my future which is not to far, How would I tell my mom or do I let her find out on her own because they will know whn they here my voice anyways and thats really the only thing I'm nervous about.

Edited for personal information.

Congrats on figuring out how to get the ball rolling!

In regards to your mom, from what I have heard you say about her at least, I would recommend tell her through a letter of some sort, since you'll be living elsewhere. From what I've heard, that also helps because she will have a chance to think about it since she won't have to immediately respond to you. It could make her response less strong since it won't be an immediate response. (COULD being the key word there).
If you let her find out on her own, she may be upset not only about your coming out, but also that you kept a secret from her, so I would be careful with that option. My mom would be mad if I kept a secret like that from her, but other moms may not care so much.

From what you've said, that seems like the best option to me. If you get stuck, I'm sure there's tons of letters you can look at online for inspiration. Good luck, man!

Sounds like you might like it better at your Dad's, or it will at least give you break.  It seems like you being male isn't very supported by your mom/sister, which doesn't feel very good.

Oh, ok.  I misunderstood.

Yea he's more liberal, I found a counselour who specializes in transsexual issues and he said he's willing to take to see one.

Sounds like this will be a good thing for you. I know a lot of older guys who have said that one (or the other) of their parents allowed them to live as a boy, and they had a lot better time of it.
I don't know if it is too late for this, but you might see if you can find out about blockers. I don't think they would do too much at this point, but they could stop shark week.

They could I heard theres side effects though, But I have heard of younger guys that have gotten shots to stop them. It would be nice to have them gone because they really put me in a bad mood

I'm sorry that we don't have the guy who was on them to talk about it, but you might find someone via youtube. It's possible, with any medication, to have side effects. But I don't think everyone has them.

I know that "TheEdman93" on youtube was on blockers if that helps.  There's side effects with T too, as well as OTC painkillers, so it just depends what's more important for you.
