Title: E Levels Questions
Post by: Tori on February 22, 2014, 11:20:54 PM
I had blood drawn... again... this time to check my E levels since I am around the three month mark.

Next weekend I to see the doc and talk to him about the results and get my next shot.

He is not checking T. Never got a baseline, also, he doesn't think it matters too much since Spiro blocks reception of T not exactly production.

So... what should I be looking for? What is good at the three month point? I am not exactly asking about levels although that could be helpful info. I mean, I suppose what I get my hormone levels checked, it is a good time to talk to the doc about how to proceed. I suspect he may suggest a different dosage.

It just seems like a meeting where I should go in well informed.

Please, any advice or personal experiences would be helpful.

What should I look for?

What should I ask?

What if he wants to increase/lower dosage? What should I look for in either case?

Is it time to have the progesterone talk with him again?

Aloha,
Tori

Your T level should be low and your SHBG should be increased, which shows your system is clearing T. Your E levels should be approaching natal female levels, but not too high, which is a warning sign of possible thrombosis.

Not sure what delivery system you are using but if you can afford it and if it is available E implants are the way to go. I know P is a divisive subject and I'm not interested in getting into arguments but the expert opinion is that P has little effect on breast growth. I acknowledge however that some members do not regard expert opinion as relevant.

The nedic will also be looking at your liver function tests, in particular GGT, they want it to remain in the normal range as it is an indicator of liver health.

I am on injections right now. Implants sound great, I do not know the financial side of that option. I will inquire.

I am not concerned about breast growth. They seem to be doing just fine. Progesterone interests me because it is a female hormone and I would like the experience of being impacted by it, be it minor or not.

Thanks Cindy for the thorough reply.

I never once had my E checked just free T and prolactin and a bunch of other tests.

So, my E levels should be increasing. Got it. Kinda' had a hunch that was supposed to be the case.

I guess the test isn't a real big deal then, as I can already tell E is making an impact and Spiro is effectively blocking plenty of T.
