hey people i was just trying to think of ways that i can make my hair grow a lot faster right now its a little longer than it is in my profile picture any advice? :L
Don't cut it. Anything else is likely urban myth.
A healthy alimentation might help, but indeed the best way is avoiding scissors at all costs!!
Human hair grow about 0.5 inches per month, so after about one year you should get a good lenght. After that you can ask your hair to be styled into a more androgenous/feminine cut or only trimmed a bit.
But, as you are starting now your way into your real self, don't rush things. Give time to time and, when you realize, your hair will be on your shoulders ;)
If you're interested in taking a supplement to help out, biotin is a good way. Check it out.
Mine grows like a weed now that I'm on HRT. Heard good things about biotin too.
ok im defo not going to cut it and i will give biotin ago I've gotta go into town today anyway so ill check out the shops which would be the best to get it. its funny how the hair i want gone grows quicker than my head hair that i want to grow faster haha thank you everyone I'm really getting a lot of support and help on this site its amazing :)
Hair growth with male pattern baldness is helped using Rogaine which is proven to be effective and when you combine this with HRT the results are amazing. You can get a generic brand for Rogaine which is much cheaper
I would think there would be a lot of things. Brewers yeast, silica, biotin, horsetail, MSM. I think if you do a search you will find a lot of natural substances that encourage hair growth. If it doesn't grow quicker, it will at least look and be healthier.
Ι ve done that emily...but I really didnt see any boost in growth ,,,all I see was me having less long hair...
but whatever I dont really know...
trimming split ends just keeps your hair looking nicer. Doesn't make it grow.
Mine accelerated growth when I started drinking three Whey Protein shakes a day and using a moisturizing shampoo/conditioner. It may not work for everyone (genetics maybe) but my growth which I measure is 1 1/4" a month now. Possibly HRT related though also. :)

Heh, I WISH I could afford to do that. That growth rate is outrageous! I'm still stuck with average growth, out to about 5 inches now since mom had my hair practically buzzed against my will back in May. I want to have at least 8 inches, if not at least 12, to work with before I ditch the wig But it's already getting crowded under there.
Miconazole Nitrate, an ingredient in Neosporin AF has been used to increase the rate that hair grows by applying it to the scalp

So put Neosporin on your head?

yeah, that's the idea. I've never done it, but it's been shown to work.......but only neosporin AF
Also putting epsom salts in your conditioner works too

Athlete's foot neosporin, hmm.
I'd try either one but I'm under $100 now, I need to use every last bit of that for HRT, and if I have any left over it has to go to clothes.
Keeping in mind your finances I can honestly say that HRT will cause hair to grow and can for many of us reverse the male pattern baldness. The telltale signs if it will grow back or not - Is the area completely bald and shiny without any fuzz hairs even? In that case it will most likly not reverse and may require hair transplant. The second point is your age and the DNA of your male relatives and their hair sitiation. The younger the more likly the reverse of MPB after HRT. So just wait for the HRT to take effect and you should be pleasently suprised at the natural hair growth on your head. For your peace of mind try some other remedies but I feel its not necessary. I have a full head of hair and any hint of MPB has dissappeared.
Taking biotin and zinc makes your hair healthier
But I dont know if it makes your hair grow fast
Proper nutrition, avoid heat (curling irons and straighteners), Biotin and patience.
I have a T of 25 ng/dl, take AA, oral E and finasteride and I have had significant regrowth.
Hair grows in waves or periods of time. Only 10% are in a growth phase at a time.
I have a micro dermal abrasion wheel which increases the effectiveness of topically applied products 1000 times. I have been told vitamin c, cinnamon and melanin and the micro abrasion wheel can induce hair regrowth. I do not know because I am afraid of causing an infection and I am just now recovering from an episode of using liquid vitamin C (which colors your hair yellow).
I have not cut my hair for 13 months. A coworker (female) from behind felt my hair today, I turned and we both smiled :) We then chatted after a meeting, Hair can be such a conversation center piece.
I've been on finasteride for 3-4 months along with E & spiro. I've had some improvement however not very much to be honest.
thats about how long it takes for it to take effect.
As others have said, biotin is a very helpful supplement. I can't say it's magic, but I feel that it helped me during my growing stage. Other than that, I guess making sure your vitamins and protein levels are sufficient could help (at least that's what I've always thought). Sadly, time is the best thing, but there is a lot you can do with shorter hair. It doesn't need to be masculine looking if you style it the right way.
Oh, and about biotin, it can increase facial hair for some people. So that's just a little warning.
