Title: How to prevent needle pain (Seems like a decent solution)
Post by: androidnick on March 01, 2014, 12:17:28 PM
I was watching Shark Tank and this doctor came up with this product for shots to hurt less. http://buzzy4shots.com/
Now, mind you, I'm not going to pay 40 bucks for this but I feel like I could find a cheap alternative for the next time I do my shot. I've been doing my shots and it's been fine but yesterday I hesitated and it hurt like hell. Maybe if I numb my leg up and use something that vibrates it will feel a hell of a lot better. Who knows!

I just think this might be a handy idea for someone with needle phobia.

That does seem pretty handy.  I don't know if it would fit around my thigh (or buttocks if possible) prsonally.  If it did then it would be a good investment for me.  $40 for that is cheap as opposed to me being on expensive Androgel which is sadly my plan because I hate needles.

Saw the same episode. Have you tried ice before the shot?

Nope I havent. Gotta wait for my next shot to try this out! I'm gonna at the very least use ice. But I think we have a vibrating thing you use on your neck and crap. I'm gonna try and use that along with the ice and see how it works!

Have you thought about lidocaine cream to numb the injection site? Might work for you

It actually sounds like a pretty good idea. The buzz feeling would confuse the nerves. What about using a vibrator like a bullet type and attach with a web belt or something. I think the leg would work but the butt would be rather difficult.
