Title: Balls Out
Post by: Jill F on March 03, 2014, 09:43:27 PM
So I got "The Letter" from my therapist on Saturday and will be undergoing an orchiectomy in about 4 weeks, as well as some facial tweaks.

Will this be enough for me?  I don't know the answer to that question.  I will just have to see how I feel afterward.  It is possible that I'll be OK without the genitalia that I always felt should have been there, and I am willing to see how things shake out.  I mean, wow, the list of potential complications, the recovery, the dilation schedule and discomfort, expenses, the potential for loss of sensation and so forth.  If I could get away with avoiding all of that and still be happy, then it's a win in my book.  No more AAs, less E to take, zero testicular discomfort, ability to change all gender markers and increased feminization also sound like wins to me.

I will be ordering the shirts that say "If I had balls, they'd be bigger than yours!" and "I royally f&*#ed with my endocrine system and all I got was this lousy t-shirt."

You will love the death of your T.

Hugs and wish you a safe and speedy recovery.

I know, right.  I'd be most happy to be throwing out the first ball of the season.  And the second one...

Good for you!! I have heard its not much more painful or extreme than a vasectomy...but??

I fairly have the same feeling....but only because I know I will probably never be able to afford GRS, so at least I would like to be rid of some of the anatomy that doesn't belong.  :)

The thing is...at least for myself it won't make to much of a difference appearance wise since I am always tucked even while sleeping....and the little buggers have receded back where they were when I was a baby.

Hormonally I'm not sure though...I am basically equal to being castrated and my T is below the lowest that is detected...so not sure if an Orchy will do much...but I still would like to have it done!

A vasectomy was a cakewalk for me, zero to no discomfort at all for some reason, next up is getting rid of these offending obnoxious T generators!

As with Jill, that might just be good enough for me ;)

So they take the testes but leave the scrotum? (If I may be so blunt!) I ask because I was under the impression the scrotum is used in SRS to create part of the vulva...or am I widely off the mark?

Yes, going to need that for future "girl parts".  Can't wait to have it umm, deforested, if I decide I need to go there. *shudders*  I hear hair up there isn't fun.

Yeah sounds rather unpleasant. I wonder if having the balls removed first makes deforestation of the scrotum any less painful.

It has to, right? I suspect it will make many aspects of my life less painful.

I went with the golf theme myself.  I wanted to tee them up and yell FORE!

My surgeon gave me the option of having my scrotum excised and I wanted to keep them.  To remind her I wrote "Please don't remove scrotum" on my abdomen.  It gave them some giggles when they wheeled me in.

I had some "deforestation" both before and after.  The pain level was about the same.  Really there aren't that many nerves down there as there are in the face, so the overall pain is moderate.  Though, for me, it was embarrassing as hell.

It made tucking much easier and the recovery was quite fast.

Also most surgeons don't require electrolysis for SRS.  They scrape the follicles off from the inside when they remove your scrotum to prepare it for the neo vagina.
