Doesn't that happen if they take steroids?

I'm pretty sure it's because they take steroids. I don't believe that can happen from solely bodybuilding.

I seriously doubt any woman can grow facial hair and have their period stop solely because of body building. There are many body-building women out there who still look feminine as ever, even with their muscles. Facial hair growth and stopping of the period are effects of testosterone, which can be used as a steroid, usually developing unwanted secondary-sex characteristics in women who use it.

They're probably on steroids then. Steroids cause women to grow facial hair.

One of my bosses was a female bodybuilder. She said that a lot of women took steroids and ended up with those results - she said she did work out so hard once that she lost her period, but she wasn't getting facial hair and stuff like the others were because she didn't take steroids.

Some natal female athletes, with extremely low body fat, lose the menstrual cycle (exercise-associated amenorrhea).

http://sportsmedicine.about.com/od/women/a/Amenorrhea.htm

"If a woman has too little body fat the ovaries stop producing estrogen and the woman stops menstruating."

I was going to mention the body fat relation to the periods stopping but Jamie D was faster.
Bummer. |D

But anywho, I'm just an echo of the others about steroids. Most likely the same T trans* guys use in some countries.

periods stopping possibly by the workout, stress in any form can cause periods to skip, but the facial hair, is most likely steroids, I can grow a light mustache without being on T, but so can a lot of other chicks who just end up being hairy lol I'm going to say it has to do with steroids.
