I am wearing just a T-shirt today for the first time in years [well, I have my brand new binder on, too]. I feel amazing. This is how it's supposed to be. I wore it out to dinner yesterday and used the men's restroom. I feel so much more comfortable. I'm excited for tank tops in summer.
I know we've had a few topics about binders messing up bodies, and this is a real concern. I'm not wearing it for extended periods of time and I chose one that fits me, rather than going smaller, though I do understand why other guys might want to choose smaller ones, or supplement them with other binding methods.
I'm just really happy right now. Shout out to binders for making our lives a little more psychologically comfortable.
I want to hear why other guys appreciate their binders, too. Share your stories.
The arrival of my first binder got me so excited that I immediately tried on half of the shirts in my wardrobe.
Having a flat chest is an amazing feeling and I'm grateful for my binder everyday.
My binder means that I can get work done without snapping at everyone I see, or just not being able to focus.
It means that I can go out and meet people who only know me as Alex, and will never need to know any different.
It meant that I could spend a weekend at my friend's house where my missus could finally get to use the real name for me.
It means that I have a way to escape, just a little bit, from my body without losing my job.
yea man. Its awesome to be able to just wear a t-shirt. I remember I was wearing my binder one summer in a super hot bar during a show. Everyone else was complaining about the heat, but somehow I didn't even care and I knew I was twice as hot as any of them with the binder on (not unsafely hot). The comfort they can provide can be magical.

Haha yes! I remember doing that when I got my first one, too. >:-)
My binder is a cheap one I got just to see if it made me feel good about myself. It did, so I'm going to buy a better-fitting one, because this one's a bit too tight. I've only been out of the house once in it, though, but it felt really good.

Me three!
I also did the same thing after my top surgery! (after I was well enough to do so, obviously)
I can't comment on th joys of a binder since I plan on getting top surgery while still living as a female and won't have much exeriences with binders beforehand, but I think my favorite part is when I guy gets his top surgery and then donates his binder to another guy that may not be able to afford one. That is my personal joy: seeing the trans community help each other out.
Yeah I'm trying to give my binder away. My post op vest has already been claimed by another.
Agreed

I did that!! just last week when it came. And I've worn it every day and now it's hard to imagine going out without one. I did order another one which will hopefully arrive tomorrow. I was in between sizes and so I went with the smaller size which is probably a bit too small. Also, if I'm gonna wear it everyday I should probably have more than one.
