Hi ! I'm seeing an intern therapist at a local lgbt center next Wednesday.

She's cheap to go to once a week that's why Im gonna see her

Yes, the therapist you meet with will be working under a professional, licensed therapist.  You can get what you need (letter, for example), from the intern.  If not, the supervisor would probably meet with you in order to be able to write a "hormone letter", if where you plan to get hormones requires one.  Ask at the first session let her know your concerns.

I think it is cool to give an intern a shot.

The important thing is you are taking a huge step in the right direction. I have a Therapist intern myself who is supervised by a licensed Psychologist. I went to the University because of the sessions only costing $10.00 per. We girls have to save all the money we can for future procedures, clothes and makeup! :)

There would be a lot of dead people if it were not for therapist interns to help them.  I know several Trans* brothers and sisters doing this right now as a pay-it-forward type of thing.  Any counseling or therapy may even be better than from an older set-in-their-ways type of person.
