Title: A Joke about the old real life experience requirement
Post by: CursedFireDean on March 13, 2014, 03:15:37 PM
When you had to have one year of 'real life' experience to get hormones or whatever that strange requirement was... I ran across a joke about that.
I think it's pretty funny since it shows how ridiculous that requirement was, but what about you guys?

How many trans* people does it take to change a lightbulb?
Only one, but they have to live in the dark for a year to be really definitely sure it needs changing

Thats fantastic.
=]

What a catch 22.  We won't let you have the supplies to realistically pass as a full grown man until you live a year as one.

In some cases, the trans person can just go to their neighboor and ask for one and they will give it to them if the neighboor feels that they can decide if the lightbulb actually does changing. It beats trying to figure out which store to buy a lightbulb at.   ;)

That was a lame attempt at an informed consent joke, not self-medication.
