I had peri with Dr. Clifford King in Madison, WI. See the ticker in my sig--it's been over 17 months since then.
The rule of thumb is that it takes up to a year for peri results to settle. I still feel like I have significant tissue remaining. I was really hoping it was all just swelling. It's clearly not.
I had a few post-op appointments with him and he said he thought the results were great. I think I last saw him 6 months post-op and I still assumed my chest was taking its time with swelling, so I didn't really raise hell about it. I did ask about swelling and he gave some tips to reduce it.
I'm back to square one regarding my posture and self-confidence. I don't bind anymore but I still have tits. I do not think my chest looks natural.
I need a flat chest. I don't care if it DOES look natural as it is now. I can't deal with this extra tissue. I spent $6000 on this and I want it all gone.
Has anyone here requested a revision from their surgeon? How did it go? I don't want to be rude to someone who's going to cut me open, but I'm really frustrated. Thing is, Dr. King was very professional and cordial and I have nothing but positive things to say about the entire experience. Except for my results.
Your paperwork should indicate if revisions are free or not. Some surgeons give their time for free, you just have to pay for the surgi center.
I thought that the general consensus is that if someone gets peri/keyhole that revisions is often needed. I don't think he will think it an odd request. You paid for it, you should be happy, or at least happier than you are. Having dysphoria would suck..that was the whole point of the surgery! Call him.
Yeah, you're right. The thing is I'm still actually paying it off. I used Carecredit to finance it. So I assume, if revisions are free, I'd still have to at least pay for occupying a hospital room. And I'd also have to book a hotel, because I live 2 hours away. I can't save any money right now so I'm stuck in a sort of limbo until I can get that taken care of. Really frustrating...
Care Credit, make sure you pay that sucker on time!! Really seriously. They will jack out up interest to astronomic levels if you don't.
Even if the surgeon will cover revisions, there may be other fees like anesthesia (if that's needed-- it often isn't).

Don't I know it, Jay. I actually had to have it all paid off by this month, but I was irresponsible and only did the minimum payment plenty of times. So... I took out a bank loan to cover the remaining charge. CC's taken care of but now I have a different loan to worry about until August. Payin' off loans with loans! It's great to be poor :p
Ouch, that sounds rough. Both with the unhappiness with surgery and the loan issue. What kind of freaks me out is I will be in a similar position...taking out some kind of a loan to pay some of the surgery (I imagine I will have some saved for a portion), and I'll be having a procedure that I think is quite similar to peri.
I wish I had more to say on the issue that could make you feel better. Sorry. :(
Definitely go back and make your feelings clear.
I'm pretty much in a similar boat - 18 months on, 2 revisions later and I'm still not happy, still obsessed with shape and there being something there.
I just wish I had been clear upfront about wanting to be flat, and communicating what I wanted out of the revison so I would urge you to so the same, it may be too late for me but not for you!
TWO revisions! And still there's tissue remaining? That's really upsetting.
