Title: Waiting(patiently)
Post by: Al James on March 19, 2014, 08:03:40 AM
Just had my second appointment with the London Team and am now on the waiting list for my first surgery. Nothing can be done until after the 1st April when they get the new funding but hopefully I shouldn't be waiting too long after that. So excited butterflies and impatience and nervousness all reigning supreme at the minute.

I kind of think that a couple more months of waitin is nothing compared to the years I've already waited. But knowing it's so close now almost makes it worse.

Congratulations Al, I know you have been waiting a while. (Well done on the patience there :p ). Now that the 1st has passed, I would suggest calling every now and then to check if they have a date/get your name in there as a reminder so they don't overlook you. It can happen.
Good luck.

Congrats on actually getting the appointment. The first of May isn't that far away now. Though it must feel like it's gonna be an ages long wait.

As long as you got the support of your loved ones, especially your partner, just remember them and that should help you feel brave.

The way my work shifts are I've actually only got eleven shifts left to work so I think it's gonna fly by if I measure it by that. All of a sudden there seems so much to get sorted out and budgets for the time I'm off work and transport and oh god it's actually happening

I need to actually to get a job and start saving money. I figured it's going to be quite pricey. At least with the career I plan along with my SO, I should hopefully be able to keep a balanced budget. I wish you luck, Al. I hope everything goes well for you.
