I have been on T for 18 months. I haven't had any problems up until about 3 weeks ago. All of a sudden I start itching really bad. It starts on my arms, then my head and sometimes my legs and back. It drives me nuts. I do have allergies but not skin allergies. So my question is has anybody had issues with maybe the oil used in the testosterone? I have been injecting since day one, so I can't figure out why all of a sudden I would be sensitive to the oil. Unless its a different batch? I get little bumps on the areas that start itching, its so weird can't figure it out. My next appointment with my endo isn't until June, s I guess I have to stick it out until then.
It might not be T related. Can you get it checked out by a doctor? My son got itchy bumps and it turned out to be a bacterial infection.
I agree with the others - it is far more likely to be non-T-related if you've been on the same injections for 18 months. I know that guys on T tend to jump to the conclusion that their symptoms are always T-related, but it's not necessarily so.
Allergies can manifest on the skin whether or not you have "skin allergies". Additionally, you may be experiencing a rash that's due to a chemical reaction (contact dermatitis) or even something as unlikely as poison oak. See your GP and don't both with the endo. It's likely not related to T.
Thanks for the replies guys. I do have severe allergies and since I live in Arizona we have had no rain or freezing weather to kill off the pollen that has bloomed early. I do have an appt with my GP so we will see what the deal is. I have never had this itchy feeling so of course the first thing that came to my mind was the T. Anyway, thanks again.
You might be allergic to the carrier oil of the injection. For instance, I have heard that sesame oil (?) is the carrier so you can get a injection with a different carrier oil.

After my first injection, I immediately got a patch a little larger than a quarter on my stomach. It was red and itched, and eventually bumpy but then went away a few days later or so. Hasn't happened since. Dunno.
Old thread, I know, but figured why start a new one? I have been on T for 5 weeks. The last 2-3 weeks my skin has been crazy itchy, especially my arms. I am wondering if I am allergic to the cotton seed oil my T is suspended in? Anyone else have this?

Brett, could be. I've also heard anecdotal reports of itching and rashes early on due to the stimulation of your hair follicles.

Thanks, Kreuzfidel. I think I will give my doc a call because from what I read my symptoms are signs of a cotton seed oil allergic reaction. I am hoping she will switch me to the sesame seed oil. Interesting information on the hair follicle stimulation. Thanks.
