Title: skinny gay guy to androgynous tomboy...?
Post by: KatVonDoom on March 20, 2014, 09:14:15 PM
So it might be an odd question, but I dig most of my guy clothes, and my fashion sense hasn't really been held back without hrt, since I know even when I feel comfortable enough to outwardly identify as a women, I'm still going to lean on the side of androgynous punk tomboy.

Oh yeah, there was a question XP

How do you differentiate between li'l punk tomboy and skinny li'l gay punk actual boy?! What can you do with a mohawk or fauxhawk to make it read "GIRL"? And any other girls with dysphoria from the size of your hands, have any of you tried creative tattooing to sort of draw attention and smooth out lines? Have you had any luck? 0_o

Its pretty hard to pull off if you are going to take out the usual easy gender cues like hair, clothes, makeup, etc.  you'll be relying on facial structure, body shape and "Body English". Probably the best you can hope for is to keep them guessing with "whut the?" androgynous punk style.

I can be quite okay with that :) Funnily enough, I feel like when I'm at a point that I'm able to feel confident in my outer identity as female, letting my androgyny veer towards the masculine won't bother me nearly as much. Getting read as a guy bothers me so much right now because I feel like I have to grudgingly accept that they're right. I know that a majority of this issue will be taken care of nicely when I have a bit more confidence, but for now I can at least gripe about it ;)

I feel exactly the same way about being read as a guy and about your fashion choices.  I really want to know what you come up with.  Especially for warmer weather.

Eeeeesh, warmer weather. In Tucson myself, so I still have to figure that out on my own, hahaha. Definitely a fan of the fitted tank top, though.
