Title: First Day of Full-Time (Or: How I learned to stop worrying and love shopping)
Post by: Danniella on April 08, 2014, 11:00:06 AM
Greetings once more, to Danniella's Wild Dysphoria Ride!

Please keep you hands and feet inside the cart at all times, and if at any point you feel nauseous or unwell, be sure to pull the handle labelled "Emergency Stop", and an attendant will be along to help you shortly.

This post is a long one! But it is by far the happiest post I have ever constructed in my time on this earth. I hope you can take the time to read it and maybe even gain some strength, hope or positive feels from my experience.

So yesterday was a huge milestone on this crazy ride I find myself attempting to direct. It was my first day wherein I went out into the public domain in full girl-mode! Below I shall recount the day's events in a manner best befitting my narrative style...BULLET POINTS YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

I hope that wasn't too boring or long winded. I really wanted to share that day with you all, and almost make a record of it for myself in the future, so I can look back on it in the future and and relive, even in some small part, the greatest turning point in my life. Xx

I am so happy for you Danniella! What a wonderful day you had and I love the way you present your experiences. Being the real you is very addictive, isn't it? Lol I hope this is only the beginning for you and we can see more stories like this in the future. Go girl! :)

Very well written and conjures up exactly the doubt and euphoria that follows a successful trip into feminineland :)

I am SO going to steal "whirling tornado of oestrogen fuelled shopping frenzy" - girl, trust me, I own it :D

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Hugs
Kelsie

Cool story. I like Princes street. I like all the restaurants and cafes behind it more though :D

I love Edinburgh, however, you can keep the food. Congrats on your transition! Fun read.

That was sooo much fun to read, Danniellla ^_^ even though you painted quite a comedic picture in my head, the whole thing made me emotional hehe. I'm soo happy for you :)

Wow, what a fantastic read. Congrats. :)

It was my pleasure, writing it down was almost as enjoyable as experiencing it, I had a surreal moment wherein I had to check for a second that it wasn't some crazy dream or hallucination :)

Oh you couldn't shut me up if you tried, you will definitely be seeing similar posts in the future...and if being myself feels this good, then it is an addiction I can get on board with :)

D: Such blatant theft of my intellectual property! At this rate my novel will be devoid of any original content! Clearly I must attempt to construct my posts with a much lower standard of writing, so as to avoid this unsightly scene in the future. ;)

George Street? Yeeees we spent some time there as well, many up market places to strut our stuff, it's a shame we kept finding ourselves near Starbucks, I would have quite liked to check out some of the cafes myself (I am rarely in Edinburgh these days). But I guess it's just something to look forward to in the future :)

Thank you, my transition is far from over, but I am glad with how it is progressing. I would argue with you over the quality food in Edinburgh, but apparently we are not allowed to fight in the war room. ;)

I do have a rather bad habit of viewing life from a decidedly skewed, and oft times humorous, angle. But I am very glad that the post made you laugh and get emotional. I feel that I must deserve some form of chocolate treat as a prize. Bonus points if I can balance it on my nose before hand.

Can't remember the name, though, it wasn't George Street. It was one of the small cobbled streets in between the main roads where I remember there was this really nice restaurant with mostly seafood. There are loads of nice spots all over there.
Jenners is awesome too, especially the Grand Hall. I have not been there is a long time though.

I have to admit when I first saw this post I thought "whoa too long for me" but after looking at some responses I decided to go back and read the whole thing. I am I ever glad I did! I like your style - perfectly executed! touching and yet entertaining, you made my day and I hadn't even got out of bed yet :D I am so happy for you and glad you had a positive experience opening up to the world as yourself.

And I will most definitely be following you on tumblr!

Why thank you! I must say though...if these compliments on my writing style keep up, I shall have to be careful, lest my ego inflate to a state where doorways become problematic. ^^'

Alas my choices were fairly few in comparison to some of the other girls, I swear, you ask for help moving furniture and they act like they are made of glass, but give them the opportunity to gather two tonnes of shopping, and marvel as they suddenly gain the strength of ten men o.O

I too hope to gain this super strength in the coming months/years...I would use this for good of course. >.>

Clearly I have much of the city to explore yet! Alas we did steer clear of many streets like you describe...narrow cobbled streets, worn smooth by the footsteps pf the masses and clinging to the side of a windy mountain, is apparently not particularly stable path for top heavy bag wielding women in heels.

...

I may have learned that the fast and hard way >.>

I enjoyed your long post. If I may share my experience, in a shorter form
*Looked in mirror one morning, said to self 'I never need to present male again'. Didn't.
*Stuffed wallet full of credit cards. Discovered people in stores really love selling you stuff.
