Lets compile a list of things we can do over the summer for those of us who are unable to go shirtless at the beach!
I'm looking forward to summer so I can wade in the creek with friends. If you have a (clean!) creek nearby you can wade, take your dog for exercise if you have one, have mud slinging parties (concept of water balloon fights without the trash afterward). If you have access to a 4 wheeler you can go mudding or just cruise around on gravel or dirt roads (might need to drive to them... I certainly do). Go camping and have a heathen party where you set up a bonfire (with permission) and dance around the flames and shout and sing and have water balloon fights. Paintball!
Whats your favorite summer activity that doesn't interfere with dysphoria?
As a gamer, watching E3 during the summer is a must to see the new games coming up. That is a busy week for me. Actually, it is the highlight of my life other than Black Friday (and those two go hand in hand).
I would add cosplay to the list, but I've never cosplayed and there could be the whole binding issue if cosplaying as guy.
There is fishing. While I don't fish anymore (don't like hurting the fish or bait), it can be fun for those who enjoy it.
Then there is selling stuff. That's fun year round.
-Playing video games
-Sleeping
-Listening to music
-Looking at videos on Youtube

Camping really makes me feel like a champ...personally, I find outdoor activities to be really empowering.
This summer, I hope to climb more mountains and explore. Staying active gives me less time to focus on dysphoric thoughts.
I agree about camping. Let me build a fire and sh*t in a hole...
randomroads pretty much hit my list. There's also mountain biking.

You guys in the Northern Hemisphere are gearing up for summer while those of us in the deeeeeeeeep south are gearing up for winter!
But for summer - activities I enjoyed pre-surgery were:
-Fishing
-Playing PC games
That's about it. lol
I have been thinking this... I am quite hot by nature and wearing the binders now is already getting a bit too hot at times. I second the hiking/outdoor activities and paintballing (OH YES!), definitely brilliant ways to spend a nice day outside. But I think I will have to wear a sports bra instead :( since it gets a bit too difficult to breathe when I walk a lot.
Other fun activities could be having a picnic with friends in the park or barbecuing. I am also going on holiday (at a very hot location, and no, not by choice...) so I might try to visit some cultural gems and well.. drink a little (but not at the same time) :P
I also know there are many exciting music festivals around this time of year so if you've got time and you love music then it's a great option too.

whereas we, the tropical folk basically live in summer throughout our lives and stare open-mouthed at the way you all prepare for summers and winters, for instance making lists of things to do in summer?
I actually have mostly ideas that keep me inside and out of the sun. It says sunny around here year round so I have to be careful. Other than that, maybe hanging out with my partner and taking care of my animals here at my dad's ranch.
YB, I'm not a winter or cold weather person. I hate it. I hate it so much that I actually get depressed if it drops down where I have to wear a light jacket to stay warm. Reminding myself of all the fun things I can get into once it warms up helps me get through seasonal depression.
Summer and warm weather is the highlight of my year since it looks like I'll never be rich or lucky enough to move somewhere tropical!
