I've never been "girly" in any way, and until about my mid 20's if I wore a hat and baggyish clothing I was more often seen as a teenage boy than a female of any age.
I've always had wide feet, and boy/men's shoes have been my go to since I was old enough to pick them out myself (middle school). The last time I sort of had to wear women's shoes (Sorority function.....) even the wider widths for the length of my feet pinched and rubbed and tore up the front half of my feet.
I've also always had fairly hairy (I think) arms. In times when I was trying to look feminine I would have to shave them. The backs of my hands, backs of my fingers too. Heck, even my toes. Not that I shave anything anymore except pits.
Broad shoulders....my father was a shortish guy (about 5 foot 6 to 5 foot 7) but by my senior year of HS my shoulders fit his jackets perfectly. He had this old tweed one I "stole" and wore in the winter. My shoulders fit a XL men's dress shirt in most brands. In some brands it's a 2x, depends on the cut. Example....Polo anything XL for the shoulders...but the rest is more a L. I grew up working with horses so that may explain some of the muscle positioning. I have always been square.
So I was wondering, in the days pre-transition (at any point from figuring out for yourself who you are to pre-T or the early days of T etc) did you guys have male characteristics?
Hmmm I can't say I had many male characteristics. The majority of my features screams female. However, I did get more read as a boy in school when I had my hair braided in a masculine way.

I'm 5'9 and about 100 pounds soaking wet, but I've got no hips or butt to speak of. My shoulders are broad, even though I don't have the muscle there yet. I have an okay voice, but not over the phone.
I have a square enough jaw, it's not too rounded so I can keep shorter hair. I don't walk like a girl, I've never walked like a girl actually. I don't have too many feminine mannerisms, but my voice does do that high pitched thing when I get excited.
My posture and bearing I've had to work on because I'm naturally a shy person.
nothing much but my face has a lot. it's a photocopy of my father's lol, that's how everyone calls it. thick eyebrows joined in the middle if you look close, and other happy stuff you guys said when i posted i pic on do i pass thread. big nose and non-heart-shaped-but-smoothened-out lips and strong facial features as i recall were what you said. wide feet here too, that would fit very uncomfortably in womens shoes. not very long but wide and thick with big toes. the rest of the list consists of behavioural stuff that i probably learnt on purpose, and other physical features that i thought are more like male to satisfy myself but actually pretty average for a female body. that includes my voice, adams apple, biceps, belly fat, shoulders and many more.

My shoulders are fairly broad. I've been read as a guy off and on since kindergarten. He and I were playing in my bedroom when he discovered I had dresses. He said "I didn't know you were a girl!" Then each time we moved I had to go through the same "I didn't know you were a girl" process over and over again. I wish I'd know it were possible to transition way back then.
In high school I had to learn how to carry my books like a girl, walk like a girl, and all that. I went way underground for a couple decades.

I never did learn to do those things "girl style"
My face for one, I was always hairy as can be xD arms, legs, pits, everything. Even though I have a lot of fat around my butt, my hips aren't really wide, and my chest isn't the narrowest. Around puberty, I began growing in some facial hair ((Particularly around the mustache area)) which I was teased a lot for when I was younger. my hands are bony although small. However, I'm short and I have very small feet XP
Also, when I was younger, I could never... ever sit with my legs crossed, I always took up space xD Never realized it.
I really can't stay I have any male characteristics to myself. Well, possibly when I have short hair, I do look like a dude. I don't mind at all. I've never really been girly and I hate anything dealing with being considered female.
I always had a masculine-shaped jaw and was pretty hairy. My body language and gait was always mannish - my grandmother used to hate it.
This is a good question... Some things I am 100% sure are more masculine than others (as some people, including my mum, have mentioned them before). That will definitely be hair, especially since mine is very dark. I wouldn't say I am awfully hairy but I definitely have more hair than most ladies. I look a lot like my dad so I can see many similarities there, including relatively narrow hips and wider shoulders. Also, I sweat more than girls but I guess that could just vary a lot between one person and the next, regardless of their sex.
Other things might just be in my head but I have always had long hair to hide the fact that my face looks very boyish. In secondary school a hairdresser pushed the boundaries of cutting my hair shorter than I had asked and left me with a Harry Potter style haircut. Needless to say, some at school also noticed the similarities... It didn't help that I wore glasses back then.
I became very hairy when puberty hit and since I never shaved (except my upper lips) people made fun of me tons of times.
Well, I suppose I have been told I have rather manly mannerism, and before I came out of the closet and would try to wear heals, my friend ended up commenting on it and telling me that I walk like a man and that I should never wear heals again if I was not going to learn how to walk like a woman. But I think that is about it for me. I am hoping T will do a good job.
The only thing I've noticed more has been my jaw line (y'know that type that's so intense it could cut glass sort of thing). Other than that and...maybe my collarbones, not much.
Alot actually, I'm very hairy on my legs, arms, armpits and I have alittle hair trail under my navel, there is hair on my lip, My voice is not high really so I've been told, I have bigger sized hands and feet, My shoulders are broader and I tend to get asked if I work out alot especially when I wear tighter shirts, My veins pop out of my arms know and I guess women like them and find them attractive didn't know that, I gain muscle quick and woman aren't able to from what I was told it takes them longer, I don't have curves, My face is not that round, I have a lump in my throat, I've always been masculine even though my dad is around alot of it came natural.
my face is definietly not manly, i got teh chubbiest cheeks, and on T luckily they're toning down, but my jawline is hella square didn't know it was XD
but before T I 'd say my height and build were fairly masculine. I'm 5'10 ( and being on T i've gotten taller but not sure how much) also my shoulders are broad. my voice wasn't high pitched either and i didn't talk very girly. but other than that i'd say i was fairly female lookin.
I have thick eyebrows. My shoulders are kind of big. I am much stronger than you would expect of a woman my size and have always had decent upper body strength. I walk like a guy.

By most of my relatives I've often been told that I look a fair lot like my dad and former "big bro" (now living as female) in the face.. or just that I generally look more like my male relatives as far as my face is concerned. This helps me a lot to pass, especially if I frown a little. Oh, and speaking of which, mom used to always joke that seemingly my dad had very strong genes because most of my traits are from him - fingers, eyes, ankles etc. I was always happy about this, even before I knew that I was trans.
My voice is also neutral sounding to begin with (I'm pre-T) and I can easily sound male if I drop it very slightly. Also I have sort of big-ish/wide feet (EU size 40) and thick ankles (thanks dad lol) which makes it hard/painful to wear women's shoes because slightly higher boots won't fit my ankles and most shoes are too narrow and hurt my feet anyway. Not like I complain, this way back in the days mom couldn't really persuade me to wear women's shoes and I ended up with neutral looking shoes instead, win!

Several times I got the "walk like a girl!" comment and I always refused because it felt so out of place and unnatural. Basically I've always been walking like a guy with my legs a bit apart. I have a male body language to begin with; sitting, standing and everything.

Although I wasn't told I walk like those, only that I walked differently than women usually do. I've got lot of comments about my general body language, though, how it's very male. I think it helped me to pass until I had to open my mouth. Even if my voice wasn't THAT high, it was enough high to muck up things.
Kinda funny, considering I was around women when growing up and the only men were my grandfather and godfather that I didn't really see that often, and I still managed to learn typical male body language. :P
I've always tended to be on the more hairy side of things. I actually had a "belly trail" long even before I started transitioning. My legs, arms, hands, feet ect. Only places that weren't were my chest/back/butt area lol
I've also had a semi lower casual voice (but would spike more female when I'm speaking to strangers/being polite) I have horrid posture too. My grandma would constantly nag me to stand straight and I hated it lol.
My body shape though really gives me away. I have the typical hourglass figure still right now, wonder women hips and thighs and butt to boot. So even as my shoulders are expanding a bit more now, it still doesn't help me at all until the whole fat distribution thing kicks in and I loose some weight.
Everything I love about myself, ha... Broad shoulders, thick neck, big palms, hair on my arms, back of my hands, neck, navel, legs, pits, and a lovely little mustache that I've been cultivating. Peach fuzz, but it's still a little patch of hope :D I kind of have sideburns, too.
I'm naturally muscular- I have decent biceps and huge legs. There are still a few things to "get off my chest" but hopefully I'll find some solutions. I don't mind the hips so much, but I hate the "lumps of shame." That's a good phrase, lumps of shame. My fiance (a male) says I walk like a man and have the mind of one, and he's getting used to the fact that I don't actually want the body of a woman, but that's a story for a different time, haha

The way i sit, the way i walk, the way i talk, this is beginning to sound like a rap lol. Ive never ever ever ever wanted to do things that even remotely hinted femininity because it just wouldnt interest me.
Also my mother says the way i generally act is the same as my brother not my sister so. Plus for the past 13 years (im 19 BTW) ive never wore any female clothing.
My neck has always been pretty wide. My shoulders have always been broader than my hips. I had pretty hairy shins and underarms even before T. I always had a skinny but an athletic figure (still do). I looked fairly androgynous.
Nothing except that I'm very hairy (unfortunately none of this hair decided to grow in the facial hair region), really.
I've always been muscular and have fairly broad shoulders. I was being read as male beginning in my teenage years.

I've been told I look a lot like my brother. I'm the same height as my oldest brother and the tallest FAAB in my family by a longshot. My hips are very small and so is my chest. My legs are quite hairy. My voice is relatively low...
I am really andro in my general appearance. Only my voice is obviously female.
I have an andro face, and a very average length (1,78. I dunno what it's like in the rest of the world, but in the Netherlands, that is average-short for a guy and average-tall for a girl) average feet (41/42 European size) and equal shoulder with to hip with.
The main thing that has always been female about me is my eyebrows (they are nearly absent and also have a typical female curve. It is easy to fix with some dark makeup) and my voice.
The main thing that has always been male about me is the way I carry myself and act.
Oh and my chest. I have a small chest (chesicles). Very happy about it! :)
Similar to Erik, I'm average short for an American guy and have a large enough frame to wear men's small in most stores pre-T. There's something about my face or something that I've been mistaken for a boy or guy reasonably often for most of my life, even with shoulder length hair. I'm guessing I've got a decent jawline because a guy I met recently who knows I'm trans made a comment that I've got a better jawline than him 8)

idk really, i guess I always had broad shoulders and muscles, everyone would always comment asking if I'm in a sport, and yeah I can be pretty hairy if I don't shave,my voice isnt deep but its not really light either so andro sounding, the way I act and walk and sit is more like a guy

And I have a decent jawline as well, but I also have rather high and prominent cheekbones, which is a feminine feat. But I figure it'll make me a hella sexy guy once on T! 8) harharhar!
