Title: Is there any difference between general hairline transplantation
Post by: xiaocen on April 15, 2014, 09:37:35 PM
Is there any difference between general hairline transplantation and the hairline adjustment sugery in the FFS?
My hairline is receding because of male pattern hair loss.
And I plan to have the hairline transplantation sugery. I wanna know is the hairline adjustment in FFS the same procedure as general hairline transplantation?
My purpose is to have a feminine appearance. But I don't know whether the general hairline transplantation is appropriate for my situation (for transgender patient. ). or maybe the FFS has better approach.
The doctor (not for transgender) says I can have the hair transplantation sugery and the result will be fine.

Hi Xia,

I think only your surgeon can tell you this for sure. From what I am gathering, a large number of women (including me) have the hairline lowering procedure and then finish it off with a number of hair transplant/micro grafts. This is especially true for those of us having brow work done at the same time as it can be completed in the same procedure. However, if you don't need brow work done, and your hairline isn't that receded (well, even if it is, but you would need to transplant more hair), you can definitely do just the transplant surgery by itself. But do a board search and check with some of the other ladies who have had this done. I do believe that for some people use of a hair growth supplement (Minoxidil, I believe) is in order. It depends on where exactly the areas of loss are.

I hope this helps.
