Hello all :)
I've been lurking here for the past 12 months or so but only recently felt a little qualified to start posting and chatting :)
The forums have been a massive help and a great beacon of light during those times when everything has seemed a little dark.
So, a little bit about me:
1. I'm 29 years old (30 in July urgh) and live in Lancashire, England.
2. I work as a police officer and am transitioning on the front line (which has been interesting)
3. I've been on HRT now for 6 months and feel absolutely fantastic. I hope to be full time in January 2014 (depending on work)
4. I am a keen writer - a little post on my Dysphoria is here and i hope to keep writing much more: https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,163769.0.html
5. I'm out to pretty much all of my close friends, family and colleagues (which felt absolutely great) and they've all been so supportive.
And some before and after photos of me :)

WAOUU...
And after a big silence... because I was so stunned when I read and see your pictures.
Hello Anna,
You are so... feminine... but it is not you, the guy...
Congratulation, I am really very happy fo you and how your transition is.
Take care of yourself,
Hannah
Hiya Anna. Wow he was hot and you are gorgeous. I am another UK girl.
Thankyou :)
Where abouts in the UK are you Kira? I'm always after new friends :)
x
Wow. That's amazing! I am speechless... f_Anna_tastic indeed ;)
Welcome to Susan's, Constable Anna. I'm happy that you have come to sing with us.
Hey Anna
Great photos - amazing to see how much muscle mass you've lost in 6 months! Any secrets you'd like to share with us :) ?
It's always interesting to see how sisters here are managing working in reasonably male work environments, and what their experiences are (I work in telecom engineering).
Certainly there are many women in the police forces in the UK, but I think people still see it as a male profession. How do you find it, especially as you say you are transitioning on the front line? I would be really interested in your comments.
Hugs
Julia
I am from the Midlands near Birmingham.
With regards to the muscle loss, I gave up the gym and for the first 3 months on HRT I ate max of 1200 calories a day. I uploaded everything i ate into My FIitnes Pal app and kept a log of it that way. The only exercises i do now are my exercise bike and squats. In my second 3 months of HRT i then started to eat a claorie surplus as i realised i needed to provide my body with the nutrition it needed to grow and also by this point estrogen was the dominant hormone in my body and as such any fat i accumulated has gone to typically female locations (my butt and my boobs).
I was extremely nervous about coming out, particularly as most people knew me as a 'typical bloke:' someone who hit the gym, enjoying hanging with the lads etc etc
People started to notice something was off when my hair started growing and when the weight started to drop off me.
I was about 4 and a half months on HRT when i came out at work. I didn't know the reaction I'd receive but to be honest it has been unanimously amazing. I'm still very early days and not full time at work yet (planning to go full time in January after a trip to yeson.)
A lot of the guys are typically blokey blokes but I have to say that they've all surprised me with how well they've taken it. Most have just said stuff along the lines of "if you're happy then go for it and all the best"
I have started getting odd comments from members of the public and i confuse a few about being male and female (ive found i make sure to speak in my male voice as soon as i see someone so they dont get awkward)
I'm hoping i can become a positive trans influence on my police force and the community i serve :)
I have served 6 years as a guy and hopefully will have another 29 years to serve as a girl :) it should be great fun!
Hey Anna
That's really cool... good on ya! Thanks for your view of the weight-loss regime!
I'm also hoping to be a positive trans influence in my company - we're over 100,000 people - but I haven't yet started the conversation with HR. But a very select number of people know, and when I told a work colleague who'd pretty much figured it out, his reply was "We MUST go out one of these nights!" I was rather gratified. Scared as well...!
Probably different to you, my work colleagues know me as the delicate gay boy - not femme, but certainly getting more femme now ;D Good colleague to talk to, but not into the blokeish stuff. Totally fooball illiterate lol.
Good to have you in the forum - I've really found it to be a brilliant place for advice, opinions, witty conversation and interesting people.
Hello from a Blackpool girl,I wish I looked as good as you!

Hello from a Blackpool girl,I wish I looked as good as you!
Nice to meet you :)
do you get out much in lancashire/manchester? You might see me at Blackpool Pride :)
I don't go out a lot as I'm not much of a drinker and don't really like the bar/club scene.I don't go to Blackpool Pride but will be at the Rebellion Punk Festival
Welcome to Susan's, Anna.
