Title: Packing while swimming
Post by: Daydreamer on April 27, 2014, 02:45:13 AM
This is probably a dumb question, but does anyone have advice or experience on packing while swimming?

I always just wear my old packer (old Packy) in a harness with a tight-ish pair of briefs (so that everything stays in place) under my swimming trunks.

Well those non-cotton briefs are good. I got some at Sears (Nordic Track) for $10. You can either make a pouch in them or pin the packer inside the fly, then wear board shorts or trunks. I've heard of guys wearing jock straps (they make swim jocks which aren't cotton). Cotton is going to be slow to dry, which is why I am not so much recommending it, so much.

I use a Speedo type swimming brief under my trunks, that way I'm not left soaking wet with cotton boxers etc. The cool thing about them is they have a pouch to make cisguys look bigger so I just stick it in there, they're tight so you don't have to worry about it falling out.

This is a good idea.  Thanks for posting.

Do you happen have a link to this particular pair...I am thinking I may be searching for a long time if I am looking for the one with the pouch.

It's okay to put a silicone packer in salt water/chlorine?? I read that it was bad for it. unless you guys are using your reject packers. I've been curious about the question as well because it's almost that time of the year again!

I second the speedo solution.
To those asking for a link to speedos with a pouch: In my experience, ALL the speedos I've used have the pouch... and I've tried various fits, so I think the pouch is standard.

Ok, so you are saying something like this:  http://www.speedousa.com/product/index.jsp?productId=23120606&cp=3124322.3124334.11970543#.U2by4YKjERR

has a pouch in it I can toss my packer into?  Sorry, I am so clueless, I have always worn boardshorts.

I just use a jockstrap with a cup pouch.... I feel like that'd be the same as a speedo.

I got some non-cotton tight fitting underwear for under my shorts. I think the speedo would be nice but they are kind of pricey. I got the underwear at Sears for $10, where the speedo is $45 (probably could find for a bit less). I got non-cotton because cotton is rather slow drying. You can get pocket type underwear. I either have pin the packer or sew it more into a pocket. I have a coolmax sock I might make into a pouch. I'll tell you all how it works because I plan to test it out in Philly (along with my top surgery).

I just wore mine with a harness and got the trunks that have the little mesh underpants inside. Never had a problem.
(mine was silicone and nothing bad ever happened to it)

Sorry guys, I just checked this.
Its an enhancer, like this http://www.andrewchristian.com/index.php/7250-blk.html (http://www.andrewchristian.com/index.php/7250-blk.html)
I can try to post a pic tomorrow.
Its just like a brief swim wear, and you can use just that, but it also has a "lifter" to make a guys package look bigger. And that's where I set the packer, its like a pocket.

I'm not sure if this will work, but I posted a photo to a site that says it deletes it in a week. For some reason I couldn't upload it to tumblr. Here's the link https://unsee.cc/zideponu/ (https://unsee.cc/zideponu/) if there's any problems I could try something else.

Tranzwear has some spandex type swim trunks as well as something they call a shower brief, these are about $17-$20. Also they have some swim trunks and board shorts. I think their prices are good for what they are. The swim shorts range from $20-$28.

On this topic, does anyone have a suggestion of a proper size for a swimming packer?

notyouraverageguy,
Thanks for posting this.  More than several years ago I started wearing their "show it" underwear as a place to put my packer.  However, I found that the pocket wasn't deep enough for the packer to settle into the right place, it would come up too high.  So back to my favorite jock strap(s)!

Do you have the same problem here?  The pocket doesn't look really deep, but it really looks to be an excellent option.  I assume you use an x-small/small and tuck the shaft in the pocket?  Can you really move about freely and not worry about it coming out?  Can you move about on the beach....lets say running to catch a ball (no pun intended).

Anyway, even with all those questions, I still wouldn't wear speedo type swimsuit.  I no longer have the body for it!

I wear board shorts and my dysphoria is such that I am ok without a packer and it isn't noticeable without a packer.

Although I can't go without a shirt this year in the sun, I must say I am psyched about the summer season starting here since I got top surgery this past fall!

Again, you taking the extra step to post the inside of the suit is much appreciated!

I swim laps twice a week, and change in the locker rooms, shower in the stalls.

The best way I've found to handle this is to get a swimmer's jock.

Sew a flat side on the back to make a pouch (the jock naturally will make the correct shape) and wear it under a pair of tighter swim shorts (jammer or box cut style) that way it isn't suspicious that you're wearing a jock under my swim suit.  Stick a safety pin on top so the packer doesn't fall out. (I've had nightmares of exactly that happening)

I use a reshaped and resized mr limpy for this and the chlorine hasn't hurt it even a little.

For the back panel I will usually cut up the insert of an old worn out swim suit or use a bit of mesh from an old technical shirt. This drys as fast as a normal swim suit and won't leave a funk in your junk from dampness.

Oh, also, I use a black one so when it's wet you can't tell it isn't a part of my native anatomy.

I've used the 3.5 inch Mr limpy, the small sailor, and now the rm.
I used to use their show it underwear also, but I prefer boxer briefs and they do more briefs and trunks.
I don't have that problem with the swimwear.
The pocket is spacious. I don't wear anything bigger than 5" unless its for play.
I put the whole packer in it not just the shaft.
Yes I can move without any worry at all, unlike using just boxer briefs with shorts.
I do not wear just the swim briefs alone, I wear trunks on top.
I took more photos, I just couldn't get them up. I'm going to try again.

LittleArt, I sure would like the locker room at my pool with individual shower stalls as there is only a large shower room with 6 shower heads.  I can't shower in there.  Changing my suit in the restroom install which is working for now thou not the best.  I like the idea of making a pocket in a jock strap and fasten your packer in it.

I just wear boardshorts. Don't bother with packing. I am more worried about my top than bottom, unless in a relationship (but I am not. Single as ->-bleeped-<-)
I am so looking forward to being able to go shirtless!

Yeah I have a pair of packing board shorts from them. The problem is that even though there is a insert to secure a packer, boardshorts type of swimwears are so loose that the packer, though will not fall out, swings and rotates in the shorts. So I guess it is better to, as you suggested, use a swimjock or tight briefs/trunks to secure the packer and wear regular board shorts outside.
