Title: Best ffs doc for jaw/chin work
Post by: baum7934 on April 28, 2014, 08:24:20 PM
Hi everyone,

So, just to be honest from the get-go, I'm not trans. I'm a 22 y.o female. But I've been reading these boards a lot lately because I really want to have jaw contouring surgery and most of the docs who seems to do this are known for ffs. I would really love any advise you can give me. It seems that the community here has a lot of knowledge that would be helpful for me in making a decision. My jawline is rather flat, so my face is really round and wide looking. I want the jaw surgery to give my jawline a more V-shape rather than the U-shape it is now. Basically, a heart shaped face in a away, something more feminine.

I've spoken to Spiegel and he gave me a quote. I really liked him, he seemed kind and caring and was listening to my concerns. I also want to have buccal fat removal, but with that included, Spiegel gets to be a little pricey for me. I am considering just the jaw/chin contouring though. I'm also worried about what I've read about the fact that S isn't aggessive enough. Now, I know I don't need to "pass" or anything so maybe this is less of a consideration for me than others here, but I still really want the result to be noticeable. I want my jawline to look quite different.

I want to talk to Zukowski too. He is closer for me and I hear he is less expensive.

Is one of these two better with working with chins or jaws? Or is there someone else you recommend? I'm pretty sure I couldn't afford Dr. O from hearing he is alot more expensive.

I'd really appreciate any advice you can give me! Thanks everyone!
-K

Hi
I don't want to stand accused of promoting the surgeon who did my chin and jaw work but if you are willing to consider travelling to Europe, I really think you should look up Dr Bart Van de Ven in Belgium. For bone work, he is really good and definitely willing to do agressive surgery. He removed close to 1cm in height from my chin and his prices are far lower than Dr O or Dr S.
Wishing you all the best!
Donna

Thank you so much. I have looked at Dr. Bart's site and he seems really good. I'm not sure I can go to Europe but it's definitely something to consider.

Do you think Dr. S is very good with jaw work? I really did like him in my consult with him, but am concerned when people say his results aren't very noticeable.

Has anyone heard of Dr. Weinzweig in Chicago? I consulted with him today. I am not sure how much FFS he does, but I am almost certain that I read his name here. I can't find much info on him elsewhere, but he seemed kind and answered all of my questions.

I had a huge male chin which was successfull remodeled by Facial Team also in Europa. Six weeks after surgery swelling is away and I have full sensation back in my chin and lower lip. Chin was set back by 0,7cm and is now 1cm shorter. I am very happy and there was no pain.

I have a consultation with Dr. Harrison Lee in NYC for ffs. I thought he did a really good job on a trans woman named Kara Tran who's on Youtube. I could only dream of results as good..

I went with Facialteam in Spain and they took away quite some bone from the jaw and chin, making it defnitely tapered and much more V shaped. I think they must have taken 6-10mm off the jaw at various points.

What I hear a lot though is that South Korean surgeons do a lot of jaw and chin surgery, a lo of women in Korea have wide or U shaoed jaws and the beauty ideal there is V shape, so they offer a lot of V-line jaw surgery there - its much more common among non trans women. There are a few more famous clinics there like ID Hospital, but also other less expensive ones who still do good work, apparently.

Forum Admin

One thing is obvious from FFS threads that some clients do not like the results. There can be many reasons for this. While I encourage discussion I shall not have libellous comments posted. I warn everyone that all of the FFS groups read the Forum and can decide to take legal action against remarks that they judge to be libellous. Any such action is up to you to defend and to cover the costs of such actions.

I shall remove members from the site for posting potentially libellous remarks.
