Just a quick query to ask if people notice much/any reduction in the size of their necks while on HRT?
I'm coming up to 7 months and can't say for sure if I've noticed anything or not.
It will depend on how muscular it was to begin with, there are some very major muscle bundles in that area. I've always had a scrawny neck... was once told I had a neck like a girl  - it was meant as an insult but I was rather chuffed by it.

Yeah, I was a 16"-16 1/2" neck at max male (220lbs.) now (175lbs.) I'm comfortably 15 1/2" and defined (I have a big heavy head LOL). I was very tall and thin growing up and only packed on the weight in the last few years, so neck and limbs have thinned and toned down faster than my torso as I've lost weight.
I donno if it your neck will get smaller if you keep your weight constant. Theoretically, it should if you lose muscle mass, but you can't lose a minimum level otherwise your head will get all floppy...
One of my clients (who has been very supportive and gives me tips) commented the other day have my neck is even more slender. (Even as a 6'7" male my neck was barely 16"), now it's about 15 1/2. They also noticed my collar bone is more pronounced and looks very feminine.
Never gave it much thought before, will have to break out the tape measure when I get home!
Yep mine became much smaller. It went back to the size I had when I was a teenager, which is a pretty skinny neck.
I am really laughing, first Sydney posts about her height, neck size,( had to get my handy cloth tape and check)mine is the same and collar bone mine sticks out also along with the girls. Then I notice after I measured mine that Grace in the next post is going to get her tape.We are a funny group that is one of the reasons I love this place soooo much.
Oh and when I was young back before dial ?? phones we were called pencil necks if you were tall (me) and had a long neck (me) now mine sounds like a bowl of rice crispys when I move. :) Patty
i am not sure, i dont have big neck
but i wish HRT would help me have smaller head, i have big head compared to my body frame, arms, legs, etc. :embarrassed:
It's 13.5"...
My neck circumference, that is. ::)
You DO have a scrawny little neck! But its nice.
Yes Grace you do indeed qualify for the Pencil neck award, way to go girl, That was your neck ,,right ? :)
Mine became notably thinner - before HRT it was 42 cm (16,5") and now it is 35 cm (13,8")
Neck was one of the first things I noticed on HRT
As always YMMV, but I think that it's very common to have the neck look much slimmer :)
My neck measures 14.5 inches (just started hrt yesterday so it hasn't changed at all yet ) but I am less than 5' 9" so hopefully it thins out at least a little bit.
Thank you for all the replies. I shall have to measure mine!

That's me alright... Ole Pencil Neck!
Being a scrawny wretch* as a dude has mostly served me well in transition.
*Or as Schwarzenegger would say: "girly man"
Grace you have a great sense of humor ! I am your height and also have been a pencil necked scrawny dude most of my life. Even now my band size is either a 34 or 36 depending on brand. Also only have been on HRT 4 months. Patty---- a skinny shrek!
My neck hasn't changed from hrt being a very muscular 17.5 inches. Interestingly I have just tried botox on the neck muscles and I lost an inch in my neck .. not sure why but it worked. Am hoping weight loss will trim another couple of inches but I may be kidding myself.
Aisla
I was 16.5 inches last summer and now 14.5 inches.
I am 5'8", A year ago I was 250 pounds and had an 18 1/2 inch neck. Today I am 170 pounds and have a 16 1/2 " neck. I have been on HRT for three months. I know that most of mine is due to the weight loss, but I didn't really notice it until the hormones started kicking in.
