Hello,
I'm trying to get in touch with Susan and I'm not having any luck! I've already sent several emails, but was wondering if anyone knew of another way I could grab her attention!?
Thanks,
Jess
Patience, she will reply when she can. In the mean time, feel free to tell us a little about yourself.
If this is a site issue, I'm here to help. :)
Hello, it's about wanting to use the site for research.
and myself?
My name is Jessica, i'm 28 and reading for my Masters at Cardiff Metropolitan University. I've been post-op now for 15 months and it's pretty awesome! I've never really been a part of the trans-community, maybe because I've never really identified with being trans? I don't know.
For the most part I've just tended to bimble though life with my transition going on in the background (I wonder how common that is?). Other aspects of my life have always just been more important to me. I never felt in too much of a hurry - or maybe I did, but looking back I just don't remember...
Uhm...I like cats? ;D
Oh, yeah you'll need Susan's approval for that. Thanks for actually asking. Most people wanting to do research just jump right in without even asking if it's okay.
Well nice to meet you Jessica. And congrats on your surgery and finishing transition. Hope you'll stick around. We don't have many post-op voices here.
Welcome to Susans!
PS I love cats too. Unfortunately, I'm allergic. :( When I was younger, it wasn't such a big deal. But now it's just become too difficult. Which sadly means I may never live with a cat again. :'(
It seems appropriate to ask; although I'm on a deadline, so I may live to regret waiting!
Welcome!

I know it's only a typo, but what a great typo. Should be a new word!
Hi Jess,
Congrats on your life and well being. Susan does catch up with her emails but it can take time.
In practice however it is very rare for her to give permission to use the site for research projects in order to protect the members.
Cindy
Bimble is totally a word; I use it all the time! ;D
Hm, I fully respect the need to protect members; hence the seeking permission first. I only wish to use the site for recruitment though - it's difficult to find many places where transfolk hang out together!
Hi Jess and welcome to Susan's.
:)
Hello everyone,
I'e still not heard from Susan, which makes it about a month since I emailed...
Is there anyway one of the moderators could look over my proposals and grant me permission, if it's acceptable?
I detest being pushy but I really need to get on with recruitment now...I only have four months left of my Masters! *eek*
Kindest regards, Jess
Hi Jess,
I think you can take it as a No, and that she isn't interested in allowing it.
To be honest I can't recall her granting permission for many years for access to the site for research projects.
Cindy
Hm, if that's the case I have to admit to being slightly disappointed at the discourtesy of not at least replying to me. :(
I don't suppose anyone could recommend any other forums where post-op transsexuals might be found? This is the only one I could come up with...
Thank you for all the help and support so far. :)
Kind regards, Jess

I may be interested in participating in some research, depending on what it is and such.
Do you have a description of what you're recruiting for? A link?
I agree on the surface, any communication (even a hell no) is better than going dark, but I have no idea how much crap Susan filters through, and so how high her BS bar is.
