Title: Head hair tips - tips for hair on your head.
Post by: Blue Rabbit on April 30, 2014, 07:51:16 PM
Hello!

So..... I was just wondering if anyone had some tips or advice on what sorta hairstyles might work well in different stages of your transition iand what hairstyles you might wanna avoid at certain stages of your transition. Hair can make such a big difference!

So at the moment personally I've yet to start hormones, waiting on my doctor, he's said I should be given the choice to start them pretty soon because of this and that so yay! But he's always so busy -_- So my appointments with him aren't as frequent as I'd like but thats another issue for another time!
So currently I'm looking to sorta maybe go for a uni-sex hair cut or something as I've yet to start the transition and still present as a male. I want to start feminising my hair cause I just hate pretty much every male haircut, just personally find it unattractive.
But I am also interested in ya know advice for the future too when I may want to start presenting as a female after being on hormones for a bit.

So currently I wear a beanie hat quite a lot with my fringe coming out the front, which is I think starting to look a bit more feminine without weirding anyone out as I present as a male currently. (Sorry the picture is crap couldn't find anything else but pretty much like this)

And I'm thinking the safe bet at the moment would just be grow my hair out, keep wearing my lovely hat and as it gets longer it'll look more feminine and it's socially acceptable without people bugging ya 24/7 about cutting your hair cause you're not a girl or what ever.

But in the most likely distant future this is the sorta thing I would LOVE to have. Is something like this with the shorter hair on one side and some colour in it.

But that last thing I've been thinking about recently is I quite like a couple of shorter female hair styles but worry if after a while on hormones and what ever else if I'd ever be able to pull it off without looking too manly or caping too much makeup on. I dunno something like this?
