Hi Suzi,
Nope, my daughter will be at her natal mom's house.  I think that is both ok and appropriate.  I am so grateful that she loves me, that I get to see her and my grand kids regularly, and we talk on the phone several times a week.  That I am accepted as my authentic self is the best gift possible.  That we share time and love all throughout the year makes every day special and worthwhile.  I celebrate her mom, and her as a mother on this day, and am delighted that they will have their time in the sunshine.

Hugs,
Julie

Still not out to the kids yet, but I can't imagine ever celebrating mother's day with them for me. That's a day that I want them to spend with their mother. Besides, it would feel like appropriation if I stepped in on it. We'll probably just change how father's day is perceived.

This will be our first Mother's Day, as our little girl is only 9 months old, but yes we will both be celebrating it as mums.

My son's relationship with his biological mother is...... rocky..... to say it lightly.  It's due to his mother's behavior, not his.  She hasn't been stable in several years.  I would love nothing more than for him to have a healthy relationship with her because I believe both parents are important and necessary but at this point in time it's just not happening, nor is it a healthy environment for him to be in.

Awhile back he asked if he could call me mom and it's been that way since (I was apprehensive but also very happy, not going to lie) so yeah, most likely he'll be spending mother's day with us.  :)

I'll be spending Mother's Day with my adopted daughter and her kids. :D

It's a happy thought tainted by great sadness though. It will also be a year since Lia and I met, the day after her mum died - and the very reason we met..
