Title: Re-shaping eyebrows
Post by: androgynouspainter26 on May 07, 2014, 02:37:14 AM
I've been plucking my brows for the better part of a year; however, my arch is still very low, and makes my face a lot more masculine.  My conundrum though is how to re-shape them.  If I grow my eyebrows out, it'll take a few months, and during that time I'll probably be reading as male, so I'm really torn.  I don't know if I can manage with makeup either, drag brows always look so fake when you're close up.  My third option would be to wax the entire area off, and just draw them on-but I don't trust my skills there either!  I feel like I've backed myself into a corner...help!

I forget what they're called, but they're like different "forms" that you can pick up in large make-up stores. They're these little shapes that you put on your brows and color them in. Maybe you can pick up a box of those and a eyebrow pencil and draw your eyebrows in using the various forms to see which you like best before plucking further?

Otherwise, just go very very slowly and do not wax the entire area off. Unless you're Amanda Palmer, drawn on ones won't look totally right. Just pluck a few hairs on each side, wait a day, pluck a few more if you feel you need to. Try to keep to the shape of your eyes. Most eyebrow f-ups are from not having patience and going crazy at them.

Believe me, it's much to my regret that I'm not Amanda Palmer!

There looks to be nothing wrong with your eyebrows. Too arched and you get that shocked look. Actually I think yours are pretty feminine looking and at just about the right thickness and arched for female.
