Just thinking of something, just to get my mind off not transitioning anymore.. . watching Turner Classic movies. The Glen Miller Story was on.. I would be June Allyson.. I have her voice.. my range easy enough, and a very pretty face..
Who would you be, from the 40's, thru the .. 60's/70's.. classic film actors or actresses.. just something to take away .. hard thoughts bothering us..
Paula
My all time classic movie favorite is Myrna Loy, especially in her role as Nora Charles in "The Thin Man" series of movies. (Having William Powell as your husband ain't bad either)
Next up would have to Barbara Eden of I Dream of Genie fame. I sure do wish I had her genes. She makes this old geezer look like a mummy in comparison and she has like 15-20 years on me!
I LOVED the Thin Man flicks!! I liked her more with Cary Grant, Mr. Blanding Builds His Dream House, but then I go gaga for Cary.. *giggles*
I'd love to be Katherine Hepburn from the early 1930's to the late 1940's, partly because she was one of the first truly intelligent, emancipated women, plus she was sooo beautiful and got to wear both sexy and pretty clothes. Vivien Leigh during "Gone With The Wind", just to look like her and wear those beautiful clothes! I couldn't get too into these thoughts after learning what I did over the weekend about my birth though. To know I was a few words away from being raised as a girl from the day I was born is beginning to hit me pretty hard. I was never told this till Sunday.
I'm sorry Miranda, I didn't think this could possibly be a trigger, hugs going out, hon.. =(
Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday. Claudette Colbert in It Happened One Night.

Thank you, Paula. It's just a bump in the road and this thread certainly didn't cause it. Here I am, three months from sixty years old and I didn't know until Sunday that there was a real discussion, argument and decision that the doctor forced my parents to make because of how I was at birth. It's just become more real as the last few days have passed. It certainly isn't this thread, which I find a nice diversion. Just can't think too much about any what if's rift now. Hugs, Mira

Loved those movies! I saw pictures of my mother when she was young and she was a dead ringer for Myrna Loy. It was really scary watching the first one with her a couple of years ago and seeing the uncanny resemblance. Too bad I got my father's nose. Oh, and I love William Powell.
I have a thing for Katharine Hepburn though. I so love her. She was smart and had an attitude that admire wholeheartedly.
Katharine Ross in The Legacy. She looked stunning in that black dress and she's married to Sam Elliott. Some girls have all the luck!
Looking back historically, Audrey Hepburn or Grace Kelly: both, in their different way the epitome of feminine class.
Then again, having seen Gravity, and thinking of someone who's even remotely age-appropriate, I would kill for Sandra Bullock's figure, and her ability to play comedy, tragedy and action at an Oscar-winning/nominated level, while still remaining an intelligent, seemingly grounded, witty woman. If only ...
And Tina Fey ... seriously, who wouldn't want to be that cute and that funny?

Raquel Welch
I have never been in to all of the older movies so choosing a classic actress would be tough for me. That being said I have to say that I think Kirstie Alley is one of the most beautiful women I can think of. I know she is not the classic stick actress that is showcased now but to me she is without a doubt a stunner to look at and has all the curves I would kill for.
I'll have to pick a modern one, soz, I don't know older actresses well enough to want to pick one :OP
My list would include:
Sarah Michelle Gellar
While technically not a movie actress (that I'm aware of) Mariska Hargitay is gorgeous.
Milla Jovovich
Helen Hunt
And finally Kate Beckinsale, (To date, she is my favorite vampire, I'm a vampire movie junkie).
-AM
Audrey Hepburn <3333
Orrrrrr
Natalie Portman has always been beautiful to me.
Olivia Wylde is another one I find gorgeous in an exotic kind of way.
But my top modern choice has to be Emma Watson. Beautiful and free spirited.
Well, I will dip back into vintage movies and pick Maureen O'Hara. I still watch The Quiet Man with her and John Wayne as often as I can. A true classic. One can wish...
Erin
maybe....Clark Gable
Marilyn Monroe most definately. But to add to the modern actress, Milla Jovovich.

Def. one of my favorite movies also.. The original Parent Trap, with Brian Keith.. McClintock, Miracle on 34th Street, eh.. But The Quiet Man.. Yes.. Two thumbs up. ;)
Another actress or two I'd be... I think.. Elizabeth Taylor, young tho, as in Guys and Dolls, Debbie Reynolds (Tammy).. I go soft in th' head for classic movies.. Turner and AMC are fav tv channels..
Paula,
You beat me! I was so going to post pretty much the same topic thread; been meaning to all week. Now I guess I don't have to. Anyway, I'll play. These are my front-runners:

I could probably be accused of having a type. :)
Cheers,
Tegan
Teg.. no worries hon, it just hit me while watching the movie.. I LOVE Anna! And Zoey, have -always- had a girl-crush on her, cant stand her sister tho! Alison was the only one I didn't know.. What is Lizzy in? She very striking!

Lizzy Caplan was in Cloverfield, Mean Girls, the first season of New Girl, the Showtime comedy Party Down, and is currently in the cable drama Masters of Sex.
Alison Brie is on Community, and I believe she has a recurring role on Mad Men. She also did a hilarious voice in The Lego Movie (she was the unicorn cat thing).
Yup, I definitely have a type. Who knows- maybe someday I'll be my own type. I was recently told by a friend here that I look quite a bit like my avatar, so we'll see. ;-)
Teg
I love your taste in women Tegan. Zooey and Alison are both adorbs, but still have the potential to be sexy at a moments notice!

Exactly! Smart, funny, and cute- a killer combination.
You know i spent so much time wanting to be me. I Dont think I wish was someone els. and if i had to choose it would be
Kate beckinsale
even if only because it means i got to wear that outfit from underworld
I want her outfit in Van Helsing!! ;)
I think Lizzy Caplan is adorbs as well. I've always noticed her.
I've always preferred the philosophy that I'd rather be a first rate me than a second rate anybody else, but I do passionately follow a select group of actors and celebs to piggyback on their superb fashion sense. I suppose the actress my tastes seem to be most easily influenced by would be Gwyneth Paltrow. While she's more narrow-framed than me, a lot of her looks translate well to my form. I also like her use of heather tops and skinny jeans. I'm talking mostly about her looks in off-time street shots, not on the red carpets or in films. She wears some marvelous things to awards shows and premieres, but not being a Hollywooder I seldom need to look that done up.
