Title: My new life begins June 10th!
Post by: Gene on May 12, 2014, 12:52:06 PM
Since I came out as transgender in February of 2013, I've only been able to transition socially thus far. With huge cans, I decided to wait for hormones until after I get this weight off my chest. After a year and a half of waiting and planning, my medical transition begins June 10th with top surgery! I'm so excited! My husband was talking about getting some party hats and making that day the new day we celebrate my birthday. I kinda have family hang-ups so I'd prefer a different birthday anyway. I can hardly wait! I'm hoping to be able to start HRT shortly after I get my new chest :) Wish me luck y'all

If anyone has advice or tips for the recovery process, don't hesitate. I've been so frazzled between family problems, school, work, and getting an out-of-state surgery scheduled and money saved for it all, I keep forgetting or losing track of lists I've made. I know I ask a lot, but I appreciate y'all tolerating my ditzy self lol

Gene,

I wish you well and speedy recovery.

I know how my husband felt when he had his and hope it brings comfort to your transition.

We both are or did go towards bottom surgery so I have 2 birthdays. I know some who change  there day and find that very special rebirth day.

Always forward and happy.

Good luck and heal quickly! Since it will be your birth don't put your age on here or we will have to edit it! ;D*giggle*

I'm super happy for you. Wow, remember to keep your body in good health and stay away from alcohol and other things like that. Be in good physical and mental health.
