Title: What feminine characteristics did you have before transition?
Post by: Alexis Paige on May 15, 2014, 08:20:58 PM
Okay, now that this is in the correct forum

I saw a thread on the FTM forum about what male physical features did people have before they transitioned. These were things like having very large feet for someone who is faab, broad shoulders, having a deep voice, or being excessively hairy.

I thought it would be interesting for us to have one too.

I'm going to refrain from talking about myself in this op because I feel like I've done that at length on a few other threads; even some where I probably shouldn't have.  Sorry about that :icon_redface:. I'll make a post if someone says their curious though.

So is there anything about yourself that you felt was more feminine/female physically from before you transitioned?

Edited for clarity.

Edit 2: here is a link for their thread https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,162846.0.html (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,162846.0.html) in case people want to see more what I meant.

Let's see...

I think like a girl.
I had some pretty wicked moobs going for a bit.
When I was 4-14 I had some pretty femme mannerisms that were routinely beaten out of me until I could fake being a guy.
Couldn't grow a proper beard or moustache until I was over 30.
Does sleeping with a teddy bear count?
Had a thing for androgynous clothing.
I was always a hugger and a good listener.
I hated the whole masculine competitiveness thing and failed to understand it.
I throw like a girl.
I was always more girly than my wife.  She always drives, orders in restaurants and pays.  It was like this since day 1.
I moved in with my wife after the first date. (OK, that's a lesbian thing... Joke- Q: What does a lesbian bring on the second date? A: A U-Haul.)
Kept my hair long most of the time since age 20.
Both ears pierced since age 20. (1989)
Nostril piercing since 1991, when the only other dude who had one was Slash.

I'll give this a whirl:

I think like a girl.
I had narrow shoulders and no upper body strength for a male no matter how much I worked out
When I was 4-14 I also had some pretty femme mannerisms that were routinely beaten out of me until I could fake being a guy.
Couldn't grow a proper beard or moustache until I was over 30.
Slept with stuffed animals until I met my wife
Had a thing for androgynous clothing.
I was always a hugger and a good listener.
I hated the whole masculine competitiveness thing and failed to understand it.
I hate and couldn't understand male locker room talk.
I throw like a girl.
I was always more girly than my wife.  She always  orders in restaurants and pays. (I usually drive, because she doesn't like driving.)
I always worried about how my hair looks.
I painted my toenails for years prior to transitioning.
I took on more feminine rolls in the household like cooking, cleaning and laundry.
Every girl I fell in love with was either a lesbian or bisexual and I always thought of sexual acts as a lesbian and not as male.

and I'm sure there are a few others I missed.

Like many others. I think like a girl

I have practically no Adam's apple

I'm the spitting image of my mom.

I was incredibly emotional and wore my feelings on my sleeves, and was always more I control of my emotions as well as freely expressive of them.

I would look in the mirror more than any guy would in their entire life, just to make sure I was still good in my hair or face or whatever.

I took an hour to get ready for anything.

I was very meticulous with things like my skin or hair or posture.

I was obsessed with having a cute ass.

I hated when my friends would talk vulgarly about how they f***** their gfs

All my friends were female and they always associated me as one of the girls

According to my mom, I've always had a pretty face and feminine legs.

My voice was always neutral-high pitched.

Had shoulder length hair that I would straighten.

I was always very sympathetic or empathetic, and crying was never hard for me. I loved physical affection (hugging, hand holding, etc)

Slept (and still sleep) with a teddy.

Loved wearing bright colors and tight clothing that showed off whatever "curves" I could manage.

Always listened to girly music.

Always hated how men were too brutish.

Hated sports with a passion and thought religious sports fanatics were immature.

Always enjoyed playing with girl "assigned" toys and wanted them more than male assigned toys (I would have died for an easy bake oven and actually had some Polly pocket kits)

Would always create female characters in video games and would actively encompass the female character. People in online multiplayer games thought I was genuinely a girl because I would express myself as one.

Always posed in feminine posed for pictures.

Never really had the "think with my d**k" mentality at all.

These are all things I had pre-transition and that I still have today.

I have a soft, high pitched voice.
I have very long eyelashes that used to make my wife jealous.
I have an androgynous face.
I throw like a girl.
I think like a girl.
I was physically very small until I reached about 26.
I have a girl butt.
I have small wrists.
I have shapely legs.
I was short for a guy but just the right height for a girl.
My body is not hairy.

Threw like a girl,I was allowed to bowl underarm at cricket
Useless at sport,I scored a single try in 5 years rugby at school
Disliked sports usually though as a kid I often watched rugby league and motocross(or scrambling as it was called then) as there were some fit guys in it
Was easily upset an remember crying reading how Robin Hood died in one of my books aged 7 then from 14 on I became this monster devoid of feelings
Long slim legs(til celulitis flared up in my right one)
No Adam's apple though I still have a voice like Lemmy
I enjoyed reading my Mum's magazines and sister's comics
Hated boy's haircuts and have had long hair since 13 and will continue to do so
Had pierced ears since 20(1977)
Wore androgynous stretch jeans and T shirts
Liked cute animals like bear cubs and Boston Terrier/French Bulldog and Pug puppies
Mum would ask me advice about hair, clothes and make up long before I came out

Something you mentioned Kim, about reading your mother's magazines, reminded me I used to do the same thing. I would pore over them. My dad never had any magazines (at least none that I ever saw, including ones that weren't meant to be found).

I remember back when I was about age 10 my father had been given two wall calendars (presumably by different people?) - one had painted pictures of very pretty, genteel ladies, very "safe for work"...the other one had pics of topless women with big boobs. I remember both my parents laughing at the boobs calendar - probably embarrassedly, this was the mid-1970s but they were still pretty conservative. Anyway, I loved the painted one, it was gorgeous and the women were so pretty. So I later asked my mother if I could have the calendar "with the ladies in it". She said I "wan't old enough for that". I was a bit confused until I realised she thought I wanted the one with the topless women. I was mortified! I explained I wanted the other one - I guess that was "just as bad" (i.e. too girly) because I never got that one either, nor did I ever see it again.  ???

Well, I'm super tiny everywhere: height, feet, hands, narrow shoulders, defined waist and fat thighs with stretch marks as an added bonus. Oh, and 36B boobs; Now I'm like a 32C, maybe a 30D; they change a lot. I was 135 lbs b4 transtion now I'm anywhere from 115 -123. It wasn't fat or muscle. And people noticed cause they always asked why I look so pretty for a guy, not like a pretty boy, and have boobs. Plus, a delicate round face and my squeky voice. Until I grew a beard shadow, I didn't really pass as a guy, even with a shaved head. So...yeah. I don't even know why my BF is with me cause he likes em large though he used to say he liked em small. And I'm nothing if not small.

Well I'm not in transition yet but:
1. Elegant feminine shaped hands ( with the female digit ratio)
2. Smaller feet, size 91/2 female.
3. Love handles no matter how skinny and actual bone underneath and women's jeans fit me a whole   lotbetter than men's jeans do and a lot more comfortable.
4. Higher voice more in the range of female.
5. Killer freakin' legs, especially with high heels.
6. Small perky breasts due to gynecomastia.
7. I'm Kind of cute with makeup and killer hair when I fix it in a feminine way.
8. Cry way to easy during sad movies and happy movies and when my feelings get hurt.
9. Not really short but 5'8" so not too tall either.
10. Relate to women way more than men and about another thousand and one other things.
